Epilator regrowth pain

I bought an epilator at Christmas (after a bad experience in my early twenties when I tried to correct an unsuccessful leg wax) and did my legs 10 days ago. A couple of days ago the hairs have started to reach the surface and every time I get cold and goosebumps I get a stabbing type pain in each follicle. There is no sign of the hairs ingrowing and they are beginning to break through the surface. The same happened in my groin but stopped once they grew through the skin. I’ve been exfoliating. Has anyone else had this and will it go away with repeated epilation?

I had forgotten about this sensation because it did go away for me quite quickly, maybe after 4 or 5 times? I don't find epilating painful at all now - I do my legs and underarms and find it a very effective form of hair removal.

That’s good to hear! Is that because the hairs got thinner do you think? I’ve bought a chemical exfoliant cream today in the hope it can help the hairs break though the skin 🤞
