Recommendations for really effective eye make up remover please

I just cannot find one which takes off all my mascara and eyeliner and always have panda eyes in the morning 🙈

I don't mind spending a bit of money but would prefer high street brand for ease of purchasing. I'd marginally prefer a cotton wool pad product as opposed to hot cloth cleaning but don't like creamy lotions - they make my eyes feel funny.

Any excellent product reviews welcome!

Garnier micellar water with the pink cap. Best one I’ve ever used and it’s super cheap, as it’s always on offer somewhere and you can buy a massive 700ml one.

I don’t get panda eyes ever. Especially since I’ve realised that I also need to close my eyes a little and wipe up so that I remove the mascara from the underside of my (not at all plentiful) eyelashes.

This is my favourite too, used to use Body Shop camomile one but it started to sting my eyes and the micellar stuff is gentle, sting free and effective

I use faith in nature body lotion and a Muslin cloth, gets it all off plus doesn’t dry out my skin. Have a 5lr container so lasts ages !

Bessica · 19/01/2024 21:50

Garnier 2 in 1 make up remover is gentle and removes everything and is cheap as chips. Just hard to find but Home Bargains usually stock it.

PegasusReturns · 19/01/2024 22:05

not found much better than Nivea but I don’t wear waterproof mascara

DoubleShotEspresso · 19/01/2024 22:09

The Nivea bi-phase is great for eye makeup.
Superfacialist vitamin c cleansing oil eliminates every scrap of make-up brilliantly.
REN Rosaforte cleansing cream and the matching balm both do an excellent job.
Superdrug vitamin E range cleansing balm is very gentle and very reasonable but effective!

Just butting in here sorry, does emolinet remove all make up? I use E45 but just as a body, hand moisturiser.

It's the only thing I've ever had that can get every scrap of stage makeup off, including pansticks and thick, waxy kohl and some interesting colours of facepaint without me feeling peeled afterwards. You just keep it moving as it liquifies and within a few seconds, the mascara starts, but as you carry on wiping with the flannel, you get down to the cream concealer and foundation.

I use ointment (oil in water) rather than cream, but I reckon standard E45 would be effective as well - it's sold as a soap substitute, after all.

Another vote for Clinique Take Off The Day. Wonderful stuff. My skin is better than ever.

gingergiraffe · 19/01/2024 22:38

I have sensitive eyes but find Avene eye make up remover brilliant. Usually buy from Boot when on 3 for 2 offer. Not really cheap but very effective and lasts for ages. A gel.

StoatofDisarray · 19/01/2024 23:32

Nivea double effect is brilliant. I wear waterproof Lancôme doll eyes mascara and it gets it all off with one pad for each eye in about 30 seconds total. Plus it's cheap and available everywhere.

I once got a small pot of this in a gift set and it is very good but the full pot is expensive, does it last a long time? I use Clinique make up too so it would get expensive buying it all :)

I like superfacialist 😂

I always wear waterproof mascara and it's a bit of a pain to remove - gentle eye make up removers do nothing.

I recently bought L'occitaine eyes and lips makeup remover and find it's great.

Overcome2023 · 20/01/2024 01:00

I’ve recently started using jojoba oil to remove my makeup. I have dry, sensitive skin and I’m finding the oil really good. My skin is much more hydrated.

Crazycatstory · 20/01/2024 06:34

Lancôme Bi Facil is magic. I got a little freebie once, and had to buy it when it ran out, as it’s a bloody marvel.

RosesAndHellebores · 20/01/2024 07:37

@pussinboots61 it lasts for about 7 months and I use it almost every day. You only need to use a tiny bit.

FormerlyPathologicallyHappy · 20/01/2024 07:39

Baby oil removes everything.

Clinique take the day off is palm oil in a tub.

Wellwellwellwhatsallthisthen · 20/01/2024 07:51

Garnier Micellar water sensitive (pink cap). Best stuff ever.

Swanfeet · 20/01/2024 08:59

I wear waterproof eyeliner and waterproof mascara. The best remover I’ve found is La Roche-Posay’s Toleriane respectissime waterproof eye makeup remover. It works brilliantly and is very gentle. Lancôme also do a good waterproof eye make up remover

Elemis cleansing balm (hot cloth) or Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish (again hot cloth). They will remove all make up and definitely no panda eyes left.

The bonus is they do whole face and no cotton pads head to landfill either.

Peasnbeans · 20/01/2024 09:16

A fifth vote for Nivea double eye make up remover - it 'splits' in the bottle, shake it to work on waterproof anything.
There's a few flavours, the dark blue is ace, last night I tried the pink one, also ace.
And cheap, and in every supermarket.

Kiss Me Heroine Make Speedy Mascara Remover 6.6mL amzn.eu/d/1jiblLo

I have been using this for years. You apply it like a mascara but it is a clear fluid that loosens the waterproof mascara so you can wash off with normal face wash.

It lasts ages, I use the Beautypie waterproof mascara which is impossible to budge otherwise.

thetigerdidit · 20/01/2024 09:58

Totally the Body Shop camomile cleanser balm, so gentle and melts make up away

CopperLion · 20/01/2024 11:27

Bioderma all the way for me.
