Possibly stupid question about suncream

I've started using a retinol to I'm aware that I need to up my sunscreen game.

I'm trying to put it on every morning first thing, even when I'm inside.

If I'm putting it on in the morning and then makeup over it, what do I do about topping up?

What are other people doing? An over the make up spray?
