I’ve a family wedding in April. I would like to wear a dress ( I’ve not worn one in years 15 +). I am a size 20 currently losing weight so may be an 18 by then. I hate my upper arms so must be a dress which has a full sleeve or to elbow. I am 5’ 9” and also do not have legs I would want to show so looking for a below the knee length.

Can you help with retailers who would be good to look at and styles / suggestions. I feel overwhelmed with the thought of where to start.

Any help would be gratefully received.

Or this. Looks easy to wear - add thermal underpinnings and a silk slip. Again, some beautifully coloured suede boots (mid-calf or knee high) would work well.

Obviously you haven’t yet specified a budget, or your own aesthetic preferences - but there’s no reason why you shouldn’t look magnificent, contemporary and stylish.

Don’t forget you have the option of hiring a dress if you don’t want to spend a lot of money for a one-off event. Although ideally you’d find and buy something of excellent quality that becomes a regular part of your wardrobe. (The very worst option is to buy a cheap and nasty garment with the intention of never wearing it again.)

One more - this could be breathtaking. Or something similar with a lower neckline. Worth keeping an eye on the designer if it’s the sort of thing that appeals. Scroll below info for more photos.
