Labret in lobe

I had a labret out in my first lobe piercing because normal earring were becoming sore as the hole had shrunk (I in intentionally stopped wearing earring during Covid) and I could manage no more than 2 hours of irritation before I took them out

so I needs something I could sleep in. 30
Year old piercing.

The idea was the labret would open up the hole and I'd be able to wear normal earrrings again

Now I'm worried that the hole will be too big and over stretch. She said to leave it in for 8 weeks

Any ideas?

Labrets come in different thicknesses. Unless it's a particularly big one, it shouldn't be a problem. 18 gauge (1mm) is normal thickness for lobes.

The thin posts on cheap jewellery are actually worse because they can cut through your skin like cheese wire 😨

cherrypickles · 14/01/2024 19:25

Thanks you @BatwomansRevenge it's didn't look particularly thick, so fingers crossed.

I have labrets in all my piercings, with zero issues. The flat backs are brill for sleeping in. If you get a material and thickness that is comfortable and you can leave in, sounds good to me.

@tiktokoclock thank you!

the labret itself is fine I'm just worried when I take it out in 8 weeks that if I put Normal earring in the howl
Will then be too big!

I keep taking all mine out as they SMELL. Oh my god it's like smegma. But the problem is labrets are fiddly to put in and out.

tiktokoclock · 14/01/2024 20:34

After 8 weeks, switch it for a thinner gauge labret for a bit?

tiktokoclock · 14/01/2024 20:35

@petticuliar Yeah - of course - got to take them out to clean them! 😖

Ohyay · 14/01/2024 20:43

I have 3 lobe piercings all with tight huggies. Game changer.

WhatAFoolishFool · 14/01/2024 21:06

It’ll be absolutely fine. Promise.
