Help me find some going out tops!

I’ve just been round the shops looking for work trousers and going out tops. Found lots of good trousers but no tops - everything was either too bling (sparkly/sequiney) or looks like something I’d wear to work.

I just want something fairly understated which I can wear for things like going out for drinks or round to friends for dinner so it looks like I’ve made a bit of an effort.

Btw, I’m fairly pear shaped, so tend to go for more fitted tops that draw the eye towards the waist and away from the arse!

Any suggestions?

What dress size are you, what are your preferences in terms of sleeves, are you happy to dry clean and what is your budget?

I’m usually 8/10 on top, flexible on sleeves but probably a preference for shorter, budget kind of flexible but ideally not above about £50.

I looked in Other Stories and couldn’t find anything. They have a lot of asymmetric tops, which I’m not that keen on.

Lots of nice tops in the Jigsaw sale. There is also a silk mix Rixo blouse reduced from £195 to £60 in the Liberty sale, but that may be too formal.

Lots in John Lewis online and you can sift for evening and sort by % discount - Reiss, Mint Velvet etc.

There's some nice tops on the Next website by Love & Roses, worth a look.
