14 yo boy not trainers

Ds is 14 and I buy him an endless sucession of Nike/addidad/puma trainers- they are basically disposable and last about 6 months. 3 until they look so scruffy.

What other shoes do boys this age accept? Something smarter that lasts a bit longer!

He wears jeans and occasionally chinos. Obviously with his jogging bottoms, it Would have to be trainers.

What occasions are you wanting the shoes for?
School shoes will hopefully last until they outgrow them.
Sports shoes for whatever sports they partake in .
My organised child managed with the above and brought his trainers home to wear casually.
My disorganised child had home trainers eg Adidas gazelles but I wouldn't have dreamt of getting new ones until he had outgrown the old.

For days out to London for example.....

He doesn't seem to be outgrowing shoes, he's size 10 for ages. The trainers literally go into holes and fall apart on his feet!

I'm going to follow this for recommendations because ds1 is going through Nike AF1 at an alarming rate as school shoes. He's now going in to size 7 which means adult size and they're £109!!!! I can't justify that every 5-6 months.

Dr Martens.

Leather trainers?

I agree re DMs ... they are very hardy and fit the bill for most occasions.
