Hair diffuser... How do I use it?

Yes I know I could look on YouTube but I just want a simple, concise explanation minus the hair flipping etc etc.
I used it to dry my curls but ended up frizzy. And wispy. Not defined like the hair on YouTube. The kind that tumbles like a mermaid's mane.

Curly hair is better if you let it dry itself. Not the answer you wanted, I know.

This isn't true in my case.

The product you have in your hair will make a difference for a start bit aside from that, for me I need to make sure the hairdryer isn't on full power or full heat (depending on the hairdryer). But full power just frizzes my hair.
Then I just gently scrunch a section and place it into the diffuser for a few seconds and move on to the next.

What sort of diffuser? I have a plastic cone-shaped attachment for my hairdryer. My hairdresser uses a sock-type attachment.

Before I start, I use either a curl cream (Morrocan Oil), or a spray (john Freida). Then just lean over to let the hair fall on top of the diffuser, then run my fingers through to break up the curls. My hair is loose curl/wavy.

It's a Babyliss ionic diffuser. Xmas treat. I think I'll just need to practice.

Just lean your hair in and let it sit on the diffuser for about about a minute, and move onto another section. Don't set the air flow too high, just on medium or low, so you are not blowing around the curls.
