Sweaty Betty fans- rubbish sale this year?!

So I usually get quite a few bits in the SB sale to avoid the usual ridiculously high prices. But there is nothing this year!

What do other SB fans think? And are there any alternatives apart from Lululemon?

It's a matter of taste I guess. There's usually something I like in SB. I only buy in the sales and have picked up some great sale bits in the past 6 months or so. I got beautiful fleece wide leg trousers, a useful lightweight jacket and a gym top in the recent winter sale.

I have stopped buying SB since I discovered Beyond Yoga & Vuori (pronounced Vee ori). The Sports Edit has a good selection of Beyond Yoga, but in the case of Vuori it’s better to shop directly from their own website or if you’re in London they have a store in Covent Garden. Both are similar prices to SB but the quality is far better IMO.

I thought it seemed similar to other years? Do you mean you couldn’t find any styles you liked OP, or nothing you liked was in the sale? I got a couple of sweatshirts and a pair of leggings. I bought more last year but I think my relative restraint this year was only because I already have plenty of stuff!

MalcolmTuckersSwearBox · 11/01/2024 08:50

I thought it was similar to previous years. I picked up a couple of pairs of plain power leggings, a cap and a bumbag/waistbag.

It depends whether you're buying for performance

If you are, then start with Decathlon - as much of their own ranges really does perform excellently

Other brands to consider: New Balance, 2XU, Tikiboo, some Nike

Good Move (M&S) looks good although I haven't tried it yet.

MalcolmTuckersSwearBox · 11/01/2024 15:02

GoodMove from M&S are great. The leggings fit me really well and there are often some nice 'on trend' bits too.

CharlotteSometimes1 · 11/01/2024 15:54

Good move are mostly horrible fabric, with one or two exceptions so you really need to shop in person. Most of it doesn’t compare to SB.

I’ve tried leggings from almost every shop inc lots of online ones that people rave about, but if you want leggings for actually working out in then I’ve found SB Powers to be the best.

SmallestInTheClass · 11/01/2024 15:56

I buy SB but get it all on eBay or Vinted. They hold their value second hand but still a good saving Vs new. And quite a lot available new with tags if you don't want used.

IpanemaCaipirinha · 11/01/2024 16:02

I bought a gilet and top in the sale. Just chucked away a couple of long-standing SB pieces that have finally lost elasticity.

MalcolmTuckersSwearBox · 11/01/2024 17:14

I think it depends on what you want to do in them @CharlotteSometimes1. I find the M&S fine for Pilates. They don't roll down, don't go see through in inversions and wash and dry well. The standard leggings aren't as supportive or compressive as SB powers but they don't claim to be a compression garment. They are more equivalent to the soft 'basic' yoga leggings from SB.

biedrona · 11/01/2024 17:17

The issue is that the overall quality of SB clothing has gone down

IpanemaCaipirinha · 11/01/2024 18:47

I do agree the quality is not was it was 5+ years ago, especially tops.

WhereAreWeNow · 11/01/2024 19:21

Yes. I popped in today and couldn't find a single thing I liked.
