Need a replacement earring

I have lost one of a pair of silver earrings and have tried to source a replacement from the company but they no longer have any in stock. Do any of you know of a sterling silver jewellery maker that could copy the remaining earring?

It is a stud earring and does not have any stones etc. I'd be happy to ship it anywhere in the UK. It's not an expensive set but has a lot of sentimental value.

Birmingham has a jewellery quarter so I'd start by looking at the independent jewellers up there

Could you post a picture and see if the power of Mumsnet can help find a replacement?

Secretly hoping this works as I have lost a favourite earring and keep thinking about whether Mumsnet could find a replacement!

This is a great idea. I have two single beautiful gold earrings. I'd love it if they reaych could be a pair again.

I lost one of a pair of quite expensive diamond and 18ct hoops and found someone who was willing to make me a matching earring but the price was horrendous, quite a bit more than I had paid for the pair in the first place.
(I should have claimed on the house insurance but stupidly didn't think of that. It was a few years ago now.)
Anyway, the place was in Hatton Garden, (EC4-ish) and I found them by googling single earring replacement service, or similar.

Post a picture. You never know, one of us might have its matching one

A jeweller can make you a new one, but it is often expensive. Especially if the original earrings were not handmade (making a hinged hoop, for example, takes a long time by hand, and the labour would be very expensive). Also, if the earrings were originally made overseas, using cheap labour, it will often be the case that the original pair of earrings will be cheaper than making one new one.
However, it is definitely possible, if you are prepared to pay for it. There are shops in Brighton that can help. Look for somewhere that has an on-site workshop.

Hi all, thank you for your suggestions, I have called a local jeweller with an on-site workshop and am going to drop off the earring for a quote. As it's a relatively simple stud I'm hoping a copy will be possible.
