Long length jeans for a very skinny 12 yr old boy?

DS is a fairly average height (about 5'2") but has very long legs. There is nothing of him, so if I size up to get the longer length he ends up with loads of bunching round his waist.

I have tried m&S and next, who I thought might as they do lengths for school trousers, but no luck. Likewise GAP and H&M. Am I missing anywhere?

I had (and still have the same) problem with my son - his legs are ridiculously long and have been since he was a tween. He's also very slim.

I found river island tall/x long jeans seemed to fit well at your son's age. I also found some on Very that were nice and long but can't remember the brand. May have been Very's own. School trousers were a minefield though and if they were long enough they used to swamp him. John Lewis had the best ones if I remember correctly.

I bought him ASOS 34 length jeans at Christmas and they are still a bit short imho, but he's 20 now and over 6ft 1. Most of his trousers seem to flap about the ankle...

Hollister is good as you specify the waist and length combination.

I’ve been reduced to buying DS1 size 4 ladies (25 inch waist and 5’4” aged 11). But it’s very hit and miss as you need styles that are straight up and down with no feminine styling. Argh!

I had this with both my boys and online is your friend here. I got fairly decent ones at H & m and m & s. They don't stick them in stores

Levis 512s were good for my leggy and skinny boy - I think they go up to age 16 so I’d just get a couple of years ahead, no bulky crotch/leg issues and adjustable waist.

Nightmare now he’s 6 ft 5 (and just as skinny as he was at 13!!) Though (in case helpful for older ones) have just discovered boohoo man do a range of trousers specifically for over 6 ft 3 which promises to eliminate the ankle flapping (some do, some don’t!)

I’ve used River island 26w32l and 28w34l for my skinny son so far (with a belt), I think they also go to 36l.

Vertbaudet have a style of jeans called Morphologik. I was recommended the narrow hip jeans for my tall and skinny DS and they fit him really well. No more horrible bunching at the waist.

River island is the only place that worked for my very skinny teen

Abercrombie are great for this. My 5'9 super skinny 13 year old wears them and they're great for a longer length but still slim waist.

John Lewis do extra long trousers for boys. My grandson is very slim, so my daughter goes down an age size and gets the extra long ones in an age smaller!

girls jeans. Great with lengths and suit smaller waist sizes.

Amazing, thanks all. Will have a look.

I agree, JL for school trousers, but they don't last as well as M&S.

It really is hit and miss; last year H&M did 28/34, but nothing this year in a style DS likes. Next do great suit trousers and chinos. FatFace are good for longer length shorts.

Following as I also have a super skinny but very long legged 14 year old. Have found John Lewis slim long trousers are good for school (he’s in a 15 slim long at the moment but has some 16 slim longs, which are great for length but too big on the waist.). Struggling for jeans and joggers though - the H&M XS/long men’s are still ankle-flappy! He needs a 26 waist 34 leg really. Will look at Abercrombie as that sounds promising! Definite gap in the market for these tall skinny boys.

Can I check what size you get him? My son is well over 176cm (last time he was measured and he’s grown since then) but they seem to only go up to 170cm in the long length? He does have disproportionately long legs though.
