Wearing two watches

janfebmarchapril · 06/01/2024 18:34

how ridiculous is it to wear two watches? I'm about to get a beautiful tag watch but I also love wearing my Apple Watch as I like knowing my cals burnt etc.

My husband wears a smart watch and a fancy watch and I think he looks ridiculous but his nice watch is really nice and then he has a big black garmin on the other wrist.

So have you worn 2 watches? Will I look really silly 🙈

I do! I wear my fitbit on the other wrist always, now I feel naked without one of them..

BestIsWest · 06/01/2024 18:54

I wear a Fitbit and my normal watch on the same wrist. Probably looks ridiculous but who’s looking at me?

janfebmarchapril · 06/01/2024 18:58

Very glad to hear this thank you!

I wouldn't do it. It looks strange.

MarleyandMarleyWoooo · 07/01/2024 06:56

Eek I feel bad saying this because of the previous replies but I’d quietly think that looked beyond daft. Quietly, as in I absolutely wouldn’t say a word and you’d never know I thought that of course. None of my business but yea, that’s what I’d think!

Ferraria · 07/01/2024 07:07

I stopped wearing my Apple Watch for this reason. I have some nice watches and missed wearing them but didn't want to wear two watches. I now wear a normal watch on one wrist and a Fitbit Luxe on the other.

canyon2000 · 07/01/2024 15:22

Do you wear them both on the same wrist or one on each? Can't help but think it would look a bit strange either way!!🤔

dontgobaconmyheart · 07/01/2024 15:46

Apologies to those who say they do this - ultimately each to their own and I really mean that, but (if i noticed this) Owould think this looked absolutely ridiculous and a bit comical really - like there is a desperation to show off a prestige watch even though the smartwatch very obviously displays all the required functions of a watch and then some.

To me it's almost up there with wearing sunglasses over glasses.

Teddleshon · 07/01/2024 15:50

This is the reason I got the Apple Hermes watch as wanted the calories and steps etc but didnt like wearing an ugly watch. Now I only wear my Cartier out at night.

NewYearNewPyjamas · 07/01/2024 16:03

You can get really nice straps for Apple Watches. I have a metal, normal watch strap and it looks like a standard watch. You can get really fancy ones also.

I've seen people do this and I do understand if you have a lovely watch as sometimes I miss mine but when I see it I think "what the fuck" and wonder why they don't just pick one. Then I move on and generally don't think about it again because I agree with @dontgobaconmyheart life is very much each to their own and it's not of my business.

NewYearNewPyjamas · 07/01/2024 16:04

Something like this for example. PUGO TOP Strap Compatible for Apple Watch Ultra 2/Ultra 49mm Series 9 8 7 41mm 45mm SE Series 6/5/4/3/2/1 38mm 40mm 42mm 44mm, Solid Stainless Steel Metal Business Band with Folding Clasp for Iwatch amzn.eu/d/4nkVpK4

I had the same thoughts so I bought a hybrid one. I have an Armani Hybrid that has a totally normal watchface but counts steps and has a lot of smart functions. When I do a workout I switch.

TotteringByRosie · 07/01/2024 16:30

I wear my watch and my Fitbit on the same wrist.

RaininSummer · 07/01/2024 16:32

Odd to wear two watches I think. This is why I don't want a fit bit thing as I like my nice watch

Kwasi · 07/01/2024 16:33

I went from a smart watch to a nice watch. I honestly thought I would be lost without my smart watch after over four years but I really don't miss it at all.

OnlyCorrect · 07/01/2024 16:38

Sorry, I think this does look silly. Isn't this why Tag etc. make smartwatches?

janfebmarchapril · 07/01/2024 20:44

Thanks for the input everyone. I tried the watch on again today and they do look abit silly together🙈 I spend most of my days at toddler groups anyway so I think I'll stick to my Apple Watch during the week and my Tag at the weekend.

I'll have a look at the tag smart watches I didn't know they existed!

@Kwasi that's how I feel, ive worn my Apple Watch for so long but it will be nice to switch it up with a fancy watch on the weekends!

Thank you!

I have about 19 watches. I don't have any that use software (if that's what an Apple watch does?) My watches are accessories, just like a necklace or bracelet is. So, if I had an Apple smartwatch (which I won't) I'd quite happily wear it alongside a watch as an accessory, rather than functional.

Eve · 08/01/2024 09:26

I have the same issue after getting a nice watch for Xmas - I was thinking yesterday about if I could attach my luxe onto my bra somehow.

FiveShelties · 08/01/2024 09:29

I wear my fitbit on right wrist and watch on left wrist. Fitibit does not show time unless I press the button on the side. Watch shows time all the time!

You could always get an upgrade on your apple strap op to change your day to day a bit?

I have a could of Tory Burch and Kate Spade apple straps that look really nice!

Same here. I started off wearing one on each wrist many years ago. Then dropped to just my smartwatch.

After Covid, we went on holiday and I rediscovered my lovely watch. Wore it on holiday and again a year later. After that trip I never put my smartwatch back on. I figured life was too short for my nice watch to be sat in a drawer for most of the year when I love wearing it.

I know I get my steps and exercise in throughout the week and no longer feel I need anything to monitor this.

JustACountryMusicGirlInCowboyBoots · 08/01/2024 09:41

@Eve please let us know if it works. I've got a luxe and miss my regular watch. Plus I hate having to tap the luxe twice to see the time if I want to preserve the battery.
