Charity Shop Bargains 2024?

Whistles blouse for the princely sun of £2.00.

I got a brand new pair of Tom’s canvas slip on shoes for £10.

Just got a Kitri dress BNWT for £12 - I'd never heard of them before but looking them up it seems like quite the bargain! Also got a pair of Raey raw denim jeans for £6.50 but sadly they didn't fit so had to sell on (for £60!)

& Other Stories blouse £3.50 it’s a couple of sizes too big but it fits the floaty boho vibe that I am aiming for. & Other Stories doesn’t really pop up very much in the charity shops that I frequent unfortunately.

@Britpopbaby I saw an & Other Stories dress in a charity shop today. It was BNWT and the price on the tag was £85. It was on sale for £15. I was very tempted as it was a lovely dress but I don't have anywhere I'd wear it so it would've sat in my wardrobe. I'm proud of myself for resisting!

@Yourownpersonaljesus I did leave it on my first visit to the shop but went back straight after. Goodness knows how much it would have been at full price.

There is a lot of fast fashion in charity shops now ( H&M, Zara, M&S, even Primark) I wouldn’t buy new so I avoid it secondhand. I also agree, there’s premium brands like Donna Karan, even Armani but it’s made in China of synthetic fibres- what’s the point?
My best buy recently was a Viyella top made in England of 50% wool 50%cotton. It’s 1960s/ early 70s and in very good condition. £20. I live in London.

@TheGander I don’t see what is wrong with buying fast fashion second hand and then resonating it for a second life or beyond. I do draw the line at some brands like Shein that I wouldn’t buy at all etc.

Yes surely if you buy you are stopping it being fast fashion!

&Other Stories little too perfect for the new season to go with jeans ( hopefully it fits) and Topshop shirt with a very loud pattern.

River Island top BNWT lovely spring/summer colours and cotton and with some detail on the sleeve. Very understated by Rover Island standards, namely no diamanté or other tacky embellishments.

From the pound rail a lovely Lacey cotton jumper for dd and a vintage Arran wool jumper for me . Now is a good time to hunt knitwear bargains ! This was BHF who are usually pricey .

@triggers34 a recent 50p rail yielded some bargain tops recently!

Still managing to find cashmere bargains, I stopped on a journey for coffee and found an almost new Uniqlo cashmere jumper for £7.

Me too, I found 2 Vintage Ballantyne made in Scotland cashmere jumpers last week £3 each !

Wow, what a bargain! I’ve just washed mine and stored them in moth proof bags for the summer.
