How do you wear a v-neck top with a neck-tie detail?

I've just bought this:

It's really pretty! But I'm never sure how to wear the tie. I've tried it as in both of the pictures - loosely knotted or with a tighter bow and neither look quite right. Probably because I'm bustier than the model! How would you wear it?

Just tie it once and leave the tie hanging down, if the bow doesn’t suit.

It’s lovely. I usually take both ties together and knit them at the same time, around themselves, for the knot to fall strategically - for work to cover up low cut, for leisure to where I want the eye drawn.

I would wear it loosely knotted and tucked in at the front.

Pussy bows do add bulk and will emphasise a full bust. A half knot is your best option for reducing this effect.

Thank you - yes, I think this is probably the problem! I will have a go with this knot and see how it looks.

I always think they should be stitched down along the V rather than just at the back of the neck. Then you could tie them at the bottom of the V without a gap.

I agree. It's an easy thing to do yourself (I tend to lightly tack, it's a quick job), but find it only works (aesthetically) with some styles/fabrics (sometimes it can then look too "flat" before the bulk of the knot/bow). Top tip: pin to trial it before sewing!
