Tretinoin - experiences welcome

I have started tretinoin today - Demalogica prescription at 0.015 strength. I am 43 with dry skin with some fine lines and hyperpigmentation/melasma.

I have used retinol - Ordinary - 2% and 5% and not had any issues.

I just wonder if anyone has gone down the same route and had any side effects. And also how long did it take to get visible results?

It's transformed my skin, every time I go up a dose I peel for a long while so have to drop to using once a week, I've been using it for 2 years now. It's amazing but like a PP said long haul

Thanks - will try the sandwich method then l. My face has never peeled and weirdly, the skin in my face seems hardier than my body as I get rashes etc on my body.

Made my skin very orange peely looking. Open pores etc. I’ve had this reaction before to other skin care.
A quick google showed that despite the perceived wisdom to keep going that actually it wasn’t for me. It’s powerful stuff and can definitely do more harm than good for some people.

I have been using tret for years and it has been changed my skin. Also it's under budget too to continue for long term. I include it in my evening routine:
Evening:
Cerave moisturizer,
Tretinoin (0.1) from skinorac
Sebamed clear facial gel
