Wedding cover-up

Would love some help from people with more style than i will ever manage. I've found my wedding Dress which is an art deco deaded style dress. It's got thin straps though which might be a bit cold if the weather isn't great. I'd like to have a cover up of some kind but I have no idea what would go with this type of dress. Anyone got any ideas?

Fur stole if this is a winter wedding. Vinted often have once worn bargains.

I'm worried anything too beaded will look odd as not an exact match or look too 'much'. It's not an art deco themed wedding or anything.

What about a feathery cape or shrug? Less wintery and lighter than fur - glamorous and would fit with the deco vibe- but maybe too costumey for you.

Going for something mohair might work.

I'm just worried it will end up looking like bad fancy dress.

My friend got married in a very similar dress also in May and just wore a pashmina round her shoulders when it was chilly!

There is a woman on Etsy that does exactly what you are looking for - chiffon, etc which covers up, but does not detract from your dress. I'll go see if I can find a link. Her things are first class - I have bought 3 items and every one is fantastic quality...

Found it - she does lovely Art Deco styled cover-ups too...

I had this dilemma OP for wedding in March. Allie Street have a delicate lace bridal bolero, and Phase Eight have several white short jackets with three-quarter sleeves, to go over wedding dresses. Don't know how to link as others have done.

I got married in May and in the evening it was a bit chilly. I had a different style dress to you but wore a short, feathery bolero, which I think would look nice with the art deco style of your dress.

I had this with a champagne coloured wedding dress for an April wedding which worked well. I didn’t actually end up needing it until walking back to our hotel at the very end though! But a thin cashmere wrap might work for you.

@dullandgrey I wish I had enough style to pull something like that off 😂

@LuckySantangelo35 because I have no idea what the weather will do. The wedding will be in a marquee so if its a damp cold day then I might get chilly, or getting from the church to the marquee with photos and things. I hate being cold so just want to check for all eventualities.

@HowDidThisHappenDinesh I love that as well. It looks like it would actually provide some warmth if needed. I might try and find something with free returns and see what it looks like together.

Perhaps a plain white blazer? Without the feathers either structured or soft.. to be fair I like your first link of the cardigan and think it would look nice over a beaded dress. Perhaps order it to try it on?
