Make up overhaul

I am considering a makeup shakeup, usually use Clinique foundation but I have become fascinated by Trinny London clips on instagram. I really like the look of the BFF and Just a Touch, also the lip to cheek just seems like a good idea. DSis recommended Nars. Anyone else used these brands or recommendations for good basics. TIA

Trinny stuff is overpriced and not that good

Mars is preferable in my opinion

The Trinny London is great if you are looking for a quick and easy make up routine. The colours are really pretty on. It’s creamy and dewy so better for dry skin. I found the lip2cheek didn’t wear well as lipstick, and was a little drying. Lip Luxe was better. The Flush Blush and highlighter are beautiful.

Nars Afterglow liquid blush is absolutely beautiful. The Clinique Chubby stick blushes and highlighter are really lovely too.
If you are looking at other tinted moisturisers a la BFF, Clinique Sheer tint is great and so is Laura Mercier. LM does a tinted bronzer I highly recommend.

Trinny has great marketing but honestly the products are not the best on the market.

Thank you for the Trinny information, I suspect I have been a victim of marketing and it is hard to judge when you cannot sample in store.

I bought Trinny stuff and it was shit. A complete waste of money.

I like the trinny lip to cheek. Looks great and lasts all day on me. The packages are tiny but that works well for me as I only wear makeup once or twice a week so it lasts ages. I also use nars foundation which I really like. I went to one if their stores in London to try it out.

The Trinny cream eye2eye are good. I love cream eyeshadow! However, as I said on a different thread, the BFF looks good on but has no staying power. Shame, I really wanted to love it. There are some stores you can try it; https://trinnylondon.com/uk/where-to-find-us

I think the staying power might depend on your skin type as I have dry skin and the trinny products I've tried last really well. Not tried bff yet though.

I’d usually describe mine as combination. However, makeup manages to melt away on my T-zone, yet look cakey as hell everywhere else 😫. A lot of foundations that were previous favourites also now oxidise so terribly that I look like a satsuma!

I love Lisa Eldridge lipstick colours and also rate Nars tinted moisturiser. Also Laura Mercier eye shadow sticks last really well on me and easy to apply.

The thing is that all the big make up houses have millions of pounds and decades of experience producing fantastic make up and trinny does not. She's doing her best but it's just impossible to compete
