40th birthday gift ideas

I’m looking for something that’s a little bit of luxury/treat for my friend’s 40th. Around £100. For her 30th I bought a Tiffany necklace, though I think I paid around £130 and the same necklace is £250 now, so I don’t think I’ll be able to get anything like that for the money. What would you like as a want and not a need for £100ish?

What does she like?

Ear rings to match necklace
Spa day at Champneys
Westend Show
Afternoon tea at Harrods, or The Ritz
Rose Bush (with her name google)
Gather a few friends and do a cocktail afternoon

How good a friend is she? Ie best friend?

Depending what sort of person she is, I've had success with luxe pyjamas from fable and eve before - they generally have quite good sales as well.

We don't know anything about the friend but if it were me I wouldn't want any of gold plated jewellery suggested but silver earrings matching the necklace would be nice. I would hate a spa day and have no interest in West End shows. Afternoon tea would be nice, a cocktail afternoon wouldn't.

For £100 I'd like something like a Liberty scarf or silver jewellery from an independent jeweller, like this.

Some great ideas thank you. I’m not very good with jewellery and so never know what is “worth” the money or a good gift, which is why I ended up going with Tiffany last time. I love the first necklace above, as well as the independent jewellers idea. Luxury pyjamas are also a nice treat that she maybe wouldn’t buy herself.

She is a best friend, though I also want to buy a similar gift for a family friend who I don’t know a lot about anymore, so was looking for a few ideas. I like the clutch for my other friend. But BF likes quality items, baking, skincare (though she is quite specific so this could be a risk), art. I like the ideas of an experience together, I could look locally and see if I could get something to take her to.

thank you all so much, I’m so untrendy that I never know what is a good gift and whether something is good or just a trend all over my IG.
