Hair loss

Can anyone recommend vitamins/supplements to help with hair loss? I'm 41 and have noticed I'm losing a lot more hair than I used to when washing or brushing it. Wondering if there is anything I can take to help with this (or so I just accept it as part of the joy of getting older?!)

Yes. Mine wasn’t due to age but hormonal due to miscarriages (and I also think Covid) but I was already taking a prenatal and included vitamin C, vitamin D and after my baby I immediately started taking Biotin and Collagen. I used rosemary oil on my scalp and massaged it for 10
minutes before I washed it once or twice a week. I also used This shampoo and conditioner and I’ve just started using the Nioxin thinning hair shampoo, conditioner and scalp treatment. I also used the Redken anti snap treatment once a week. It took about 6 months to see a noticeable difference and am now trying to prevent as much post partum hair loss as possible. Supplements and high protein diet - good start on the inside first. Best of luck

I’d see the dr and rule out systemic problems. Better to catch things early.

Hey, sorry for not coming back sooner, thanks for the recommendations, I'm going to give the shampoo a go. @FormerlyPathologicallyHappy it's an interesting point about systemic problems, I recently found out I have ovarian cysts which could be linked to endometriosis, not something I've had before but my periods in the last six months have been awful. Hadn't occurred to me that the two could be related but I'll mention it to the consultant when I see them, thank you!

Check your ferritin! You can have low iron but not be anaemic.

I had low ferritin for years and never bothered about it but my hair was getting thinner and thinner. Finally I committed to taking iron ( ferrograd c ) and after a few months I actually have regrowth for the first time.
I also take collagen and Biotin which help a lot with skin and nails and may also help with hair.
