I have never ever spent £400 on a jumper!

Good for you. I received a beautiful Brora blouse for Christmas- I'd ummed and aahed over it for so long because of the price but it is lovely

CatherineStandish · 28/12/2023 21:36

I have some from about 10 years ago when £200 in the sales felt wildly impulsive and they are still beautiful. Per wear they are excellent value.

I wish for a new one but will wait until the DC are out of uni.

FunnysInLaJardin · 28/12/2023 22:24

I am hoping it is really beautiful and will last me years. DS1 is off to uni in September, so it maybe my last chance for a few years!

Maybe it my compensation for losing my first beautiful child to the great unknown. Dreading him leaving tbh

I've got two Donegal cashmeres from there (sale both times, think about £225 each), and they are my most beloved knits. Every time I put one on I think how much I love them. They're just the perfect mid-weight, warmth, slouchiness, fall perfectly, I love the cuffs for some reason Xmas Grin

Totally worth it, hope you love yours as much

FunnysInLaJardin · 29/12/2023 23:38

I really hope so @FromMilanToMinsk1 , yours sound beautiful

Wow what a lovely treat! Make sure you come back to update us when it arrives. Nothing nicer than a really lovely good quality jumper.

canyon2000 · 30/12/2023 10:23

The gauzy jumpers are lovely but be very careful washing and reshaping them! Handwash only and a gentle stretch, then lie flat to dry. I speak from experience!

And store in a moth proof bag.

It sounds great op. I treated myself to some Solovair boots when my son went to uni and they're still going strong 7 years later. I sympathise about your son leaving - I still miss mine dreadfully but it's also lovely watching him taking his place in the world.

FunnysInLaJardin · 30/12/2023 13:14

thanks for the care tips! I will of course update when it arrives.

@Floisme it is a wonderful time for him and I am very proud, will miss him awfully though

Where would I buy a moth proof bag please?
