It’s a close friend’s birthday in January, I’ve seen this and also a star sign candle:-

She got me a healing stones with essential oils and lovely candle for Christmas.

Would you like the candle I mentioned but also would you use the bath tray?

Honestly? I couldn’t get excited about a brand that only seems to exist on Amazon. And I don’t care for bamboo products. And while I used to own a bath rack I don’t spend enough time lounging in the bath now to have any use for such a thing. Can’t see the star sign candle, but if bearing an astrological sign is the main attraction it wouldn’t be something I’d find worth having.

But I’m not your friend! These things might be exactly what she’d like.

But then what should I get her? I’ve been told or find that people like getting what they give others.

The one year I went slightly off topic for her birthday I got her a nice framed print of the Arsenal stadium as she’s a big Gunners fan but don’t think this went down well!

Hmm …

Confused

I think there are nicer 'spa' type things than a Bath caddy!

I'm boycotting Amazon. I would only buy from them as shop of last resort and even then only if it was some essential part for a domestic appliance which couldn't be found anywhere else.

That aside the bath thingy and a candle with a zodiac sign would go straight to a charity shop. As would the healing stones and essential oils.

But if spa stuff is her thing there are gazillions of shops in real life and online which aren't Amazon which sell it.

Gonnagetgoingreturnsagain · 28/12/2023 19:16

Interesting what you both say re where she’s getting things and what she’s got me! And yes some things either I don’t use or have been ebayed/charity shopped..

She has got me and a friend Body Shop gift sets and Rituals ones in the past. Maybe I’ll get her a nice Rituals set in the sales.

In defence of a candle with crystals in it, I got one for a friend who’s into yoga and crystals for her birthday and she sent me a photo of it being used (quite a bit too!) so some people like them!

God no, the opposite! I hate spa stuff, but buy it for others that do like it. I’ve only bought stuff I’d like if I know we have the same taste. I’m a big football and cricket fan, but wouldn’t want a print of anything to do with that in my house.

What have you seen her use? Anything she’s recommended to you? Those Amazon presents look awful, sorry.

Shinyandnew1 · 28/12/2023 20:11

I love having baths but see no need for a bath caddy-it would just gather dust the rest of the time. I suspect if she wanted to own one, she would probably already do so by now.

I’d go for something you’ve seen her use, but a nice version. Does she wear scarves? Burn candles? Drinks red wine? Likes funky socks? Certain chocolate or biscuits?
