My DD age 20 wants to get into a proper skincare routine. Neither of us know much about skincare. Please can you recommend any brand that we can go and talk to that will be suitable and give good advice.

For skin care you need is an SPF (at least a 25-30 for UK weather, 50 for anywhere hotter), moisturiser and cleanser.

Cerave is a really good, affordable and reliable brand.

I also recommend cleansing balms if she uses makeup (Inkey list and ELF do great ones).

The only other topicals I recommend are a Vitamin C serum for the am which will target scarring and retinol for the pm which will help with acne, texture and anti aging. I recommend the brands the ordinary, inkey list and cerave again.

You can learn a lot about skincare on YouTube these days!!

Dermalogica. They are excellent, properly cruelty free too. It always surprises me how many brands still test on animals.
