Ebay rules when offering refund

I like a jacket on ebay, just not sure on fit, the seller offers returns, I understand if you do get a discount on your fees when you offer this, so was going to put offer in, but when checked the description she says she will not refund just because it doesn't fit, is this allowed, what the point of offering returns ( buyer pay to return) and then saying I can't.

Private Sellers (eg not a business seller) are not obliged by ebays terms and conditions to accept a refund on an item because it doesn't fit.

I sold a jumper some time ago, gave measurements and sizing and showed images. The buyer messaged basically saying it didn't fit and they wanted to return it. Ebay sent me a (what looked to be universal type) of message saying I was not obliged to accept the refund request and it would not affect my account if I did reject it, but equally I can accept it if I want. The buyer was polite and they were happy to pay the return postage so I accepted as it wasn't really any skin off my nose, but otherwise I probably wouldn't have.

I take your point though, it does seem daft to say you accept them - I make a point of saying I do not. Ultimately just be aware that if you did buy it and wanted to return it because it didn't fit, she doesn't have to agree to this, refund any money or costs, and nothing will be done.

Thanks for your advice, I am going to leave it, she has put the measurements, but as you know not every clothing item will fit in your size , sometimes the shape doesn't suit, and I can't risk it as it over £50
