Getting my colours done

Had my colours done many years ago when my hair was dark brown. Now a rather lovely shade of grey and no idea what works for me colourwise. The lovely bright oranges and reds used to wear certainly don't work anymore!

Considering getting my colours done but who does this these days?

It's very popular on YouTube, there's loads of demonstrations.
It's your skin's undertone that defines your season, not so much your hair.

Your basic season doesn’t change so still the same colours in your wallet, just use more of the softer ones. That’s what I’ve been told. Are you Spring or Autumn by any chance? Going off the fact orange is one. I was diagnosed a Blue Spring, so now, since my hair turned pure white, I avoid both the yellow/ orange shades & the very pastel ones & wear more of the blues, turquoise, navy, grey ones. Dark brown seems surprisingly still to work. It’s the pale colours that wash me out.
HoC used to do an update from what I’ve read, rather than paying for a whole new session.

I had my colours revised earlier this year with Colour me Beautiful (I'd had them done about 15 years ago). Went from Deep and Warm (dark hair, dark eyes) to Cool/Clear/Deep (grey hair, dark eyes, paler skin tone).

Nice to be able to wear different shades - and to see that some of my favourites are still in my colour swatch.

I went to House of colour and was draped as ‘sultry winter’, the darkest winter. My consultant said the season doesn’t change when hair goes white, although you may suit some of the lighter shades in your season. As I have gone grey I have been able to wear some of the lighter winter colours more easily. I couldn’t really wear light beige or white before but it looks ok on me now.

I had mine done online with Emily innes after finding her on Facebook.
She had waiting list of a few weeks and I was a little dubious but after reading all the results of people posting how happy they were,I spent the £30.
I'm a warm autumn.
It all makes sense now and shopping is easy. She told to avoid lilac and go for more of a boney blonde when I mentioned I might try ash.
I'd recommend.

I had mine done with Ruth Rowberry (Hereford). It has transformed my wardrobe, my confidence and my life. I also had a makeup lesson and makeup colours. Do it!
