Apologies if there has been a thread on this, I couldn't see one. Be nice to see outfit inspiration!

A plaid shirt, grey joggers and thick willy socks. No bra!

…Willy socks….? My mind is boggling!

Probably jeans and a jumper, having a quiet Christmas here😊

RedVanYellowVan · 20/12/2023 08:31

Thermal leggings, thermal long sleeved vest, woolly jumper, waterproof coat, possibly waterproof trousers, bobble hat, sturdy boots. My statement necklace will be a waterproof map case on a cord round my neck. Perhaps not quite as glam as some on here but appropriate to the situation.

As you were though, back to the dresses and sequins, they all sound fab.

AtillaTheHon · 20/12/2023 10:32

That sounds exciting though @RedVanYellowVan! Am I allowed to ask what you'll be doing?

ManchesterLu · 20/12/2023 10:54

Black jeans and a Christmas jumper. Comfort over style, for sure. I've put some weight on this year (understatement!) so I just don't feel right wearing dresses right now.

floofbag · 20/12/2023 11:13

Sequin shorts , tights and a polo neck short jumper

I would like to dress up a bit but like others have said earlier....what do you wear on your feet?! I always send up wearing my slippers! The same if we have a house party or people over a dinner party. Get dressed up then put shoes on inside feels weird.

I've just bought a pair of fluff lined sequin slippers at Primark for this exact purpose... Tacky, but perfect for Christmas day!

BuntyCollocks · 20/12/2023 16:38

The viral H&M white sequin bow back dress, thick black tights

dontgobaconmyheart · 20/12/2023 16:49

You'll not get any inspiration from me OP, I'm quite sure.

I'm home alone with the dog until after lunch (DP will be working) and so will just be in something comfortable same as any other day. We don't dress up for Christmas and just like to be comfortable - not PJ's or Novelty Christmas jumpers or anything, just normal loungewear of the type that you'd be perfectly happy to answer the door in.

Petrine · 20/12/2023 16:51

I’m going to wear one of my Ghost dresses. The one I have in mind has a crepe under dress with a lace over dress, mid calf length. I daren’t wear anything satin as I’m cooking Christmas lunch and I’m bound to get something greasy on it.

I’ll wear Mary Jane shoes and black sheer tights.

I’m really looking forward to it!

RedVanYellowVan · 20/12/2023 21:18

AtillaTheHon trekking across moorland in the South West. Looking about as unglam as it's possible to be no doubt! Particularly if it rains.

Comfy slippers in the evening though.

ShinyAppleDreamingOfTheSea · 20/12/2023 21:36

Christmas jumper dress - I have two - one is light grey with sparkles running through it and Scandi design on the front and the other is black with sparkly snowflakes on it . With thick tights and slipper boots - although if I go for the black dress may need to be leggings rather than tights as it's shrunk in length and more like oversized sweater now !

JMAngel1 · 20/12/2023 21:47

I have a green velvet midi dress - kind of slouchy off the shoulder. I'm going to put a fine knit slash neck sweater under it for warmth. Thick black tights and black mid heel sock boots. I have a black wool jacket if I'm cold but hoping heating will be on a lot as elderly PIL coming who are coming from a house with an aga and wood burner so don't handle the cold well. If I lose on the heating front, I'll just up my prosecco chambord game to keep me warm 😂

shewithnoname · 20/12/2023 21:48

work uniform 😂

Iheartmysmart · 20/12/2023 21:52

Very jealous of everyone dressing up for Christmas Day. I’m going to relatives who don’t have central heating and keep the back door open all year round so the dogs can go in and out. I’ll have multiple layers on including thermals - very glamorous.

Teddleshon · 20/12/2023 21:53

Green Velvet Beulah Dress

glossylippsthickhips · 20/12/2023 21:55

Leggings and a nice top most likely - I'm trying to lose weight so don't want to draw too much attention to my figure.

beguilingeyes · 21/12/2023 12:14

I have a pair of green velvet sparkly trousers from Sainsbury's. Not sure about the top half though.

Fridaysgirl17 · 21/12/2023 12:25

Black cargo jeans,I have a cute Christmas t shirt & a Christmas hoodie, either fluffy socks or my trusty pumas on the feet

TwinklingLightsEverywhere · 21/12/2023 12:26

We go to a country pub for lunch, I've always worn a nice but jersey/relaxed fit dress with boots but more recently everyone else seems to be wearing Xmas Jumpers.

I have a fine knit bright red jumper with glitter stars on it that I call my Christmas jumper so might just wear that with a larger pair of jeans (room for food!) or stretchy trousers.

Shame though because I rarely get to wear a dress these days.

JadeSeahorse · 21/12/2023 12:28

Navy tailored trousers - one size too big now but still look and feel great - from Jaeger with a lovely navy and cream jumper from Warehouse which was an Ebay bargain in the summer.

ladyinthecampervan · 21/12/2023 12:32

@RedVanYellowVan can I come for Christmas with you? Sounds just like my kind of day!

MadCatLady27 · 21/12/2023 12:53

We are spending part of the day at OH family's house and have been told to "dress smartly" 🙄

As someone who lives in joggers and hoodies, and doesn't get the whole dressing up when not going anywhere thing, I'll plump for cargo trousers (elasticated waist and very comfy) and a roll neck jumper.

I think the house will be cold too, so the cargo trousers will hide my lovely cosy heat holder sockies!

WhimsicalMoth · 21/12/2023 13:28

Pyjamas

RampantIvy · 21/12/2023 13:32

I get that pyjamas are comfortable, but I hate not getting dressed. Most days I wear jeans and jumpers or leggings/joggers and jumpers which are just as comfortable as pyjamas.
