Hair straighteners

What is the difference between the basic GHD's and say the 'Gold Limited Edition' GHD's? I'm getting terribly confused here. I don't know if it's just that they come in a different colour and everything else is the same or what.

Can someone in the know please help me learn the difference.

Also, are steam pods still a thing and worth looking into or should I just stick to learning about GHD's?
