Reasonably priced, stylish reading glasses?

I have an expensive pair of prescription readers and a cheapo pair I bought online, but I don't really love either of them.

I'd like to buy a couple of cheap but stylish pairs - but I want to by them in person so I can try them on and see what I think.

Is this possible or am I being too high maintenance?!

One of the online companies, I think it's Glasses Direct, allow you to try up to five different frames. And they give you a freepost label to post them back.

I buy mine from TK Maxx in store they normally have a small stand, usually near the tills. I've found some really cool ones for about a fiver and the quality is fab.

Thanks Laffin but I'm really picky so I don't know if 5 pairs would be enough!

Thanks Tanfastic, hadn't even thought about TK Maxx, will check that out.

I buy reading sunglasses from here - they’re ok. I’ve got several pairs of expensive specs (always have the old ones reglazed) and I don’t think these are any different quality wise.

Off the peg specs

I've picked up some decent ones in Superdrug of all places before.

Do you mean off the shelf reading glasses? I second TK Maxx. Also Superdrug and some larger supermarkets often have a selection of Foster Grant glasses.

I do mean off the shelf, sorry, should have been more clear. Also wouldn't have thought of Superdrug so I'll try that too!

I've also had a few pairs from primark just to dot around the house.
