Fill my make up bag for £100

I have £100 budget and looking to refresh my make up bag. I'm 42, cool toned with blue eyes and mousey ash hair. I dont love a full make up look, the fewer products the better, but keen on a brighter lip. Dry skin, usual age related lines combined with the odd hormonal breakout. What would you buy?

Really? I wouldn't have thought of Primark, I thought that was for much younger people!

Get the basics right - Charlotte Tilbury mascara. Tinted moisturiser for erborian (the smaller tube to see if you like it). Concealer from Huda Beauty.
Then spend the rest on a few cheaper eye pencils and lipsticks to find ones you really like.

Nars creamy radiant concealer - I don't use foundation or bb cream I just use this where I need it and will never use another concealer again, it's perfect.

I absolutely love Charlotte tilbury legendary brows - brilliant for natural looking brows esp when they start getting a bit thinner.

Those are my two ride or die, everything else is negotiable.

TwinklingLightsEverywhere · 17/12/2023 21:13

The Elf range is really good quality, lots likened to Charlotte Tilbury. You can probably do it for £50.

bananablues · 17/12/2023 21:15

Take a look at studio 10 and ilia beauty.

I couldn't get my shade from nars and bought a Chanel one instead and it's shit in comparison. I miss my nars concealer but I'm using all £24 of this shitty Chanel one.

This tinted moisturiser is brilliant - 23 years between me and my mum and we both use it! The concealer from the same range is pretty good too but I will probably experiment with another when I’ve used it up. I’ve also heard really good things about the La Roche Posay tinted moisturiser with spf which is about £18

i like the NYX eyebrow stuff that’s like a tinted gel and sets them in place.

my most splurgy buy is the Clinique black honey almost lipstick and although £30 is expensive for essentially a lip balm I love it!

ELF contour and blush is great.

I would spend 50-60% on skincare (ie a decent moisturiser).
Foundation: Maybelline 30H (creamy) 11 superdrug
Revolution eyebrow pencil 4 superdrug
MUA eyeshadow palette 5 superdrug
Lip - Smooth Whip in cherry cream boots. 6
Bourjois Clubbing eyeliner 9 Amazon
Elf Halo glow in blush (blusher) 8
Setting powder 8 elf
Lip liner MUA 3

You're welcome 🤗

Moonshine5 · 17/12/2023 21:24

It sounds like you have very similar colouring to me.
This eyeshadow is the best on me - so much so, it is the only one I have ever purchased more than once!

The Ordinary for any skincare you need

flawless filter from Charlotte tilbury

any primer

any pressed powder, mascara, eyeshadow etc

ThreeRingCircus · 17/12/2023 22:00

I wear Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Flawless filter instead of foundation, I absolutely love it for giving me a glow.

Max Factor facefinity compact when I want a bit more coverage.

L'Oréal paradise waterproof mascara.

Maybelline superstay matte ink is the most long wearing lip colour I've ever tried but I wear lip balm over the top as it can be drying.

Britpopbaby · 17/12/2023 22:21

Chanel water teint foundation
Clear mascara for brows- Collection,17 or any budget brand
Collection cream blush stick or Bourjois blush
Elf rock and roll mascara
Elf lipstick
Collection eyeshadow palette
Primark eyeshadow primer

Domino45 · 17/12/2023 22:22

The elf roll n lash mascara is great for a natural look and it’s £6. I’ve been using the Nyx bare with me serum concealer which is really lovely too. The huda concealer is nice and the corrector. The corrector goes well with any concealer I’ve used not just hudas own.

buckeejit · 17/12/2023 22:36

Get a Kiko eyeliner. Also think about joining some selling pages on fb or looking on eBay as people will sell things from adventure calendars etc. Ime travel size mascaras last as long as full size, (chantecaille mascara is the tits)

Divebar2021 · 17/12/2023 22:49

You sound similar in colouring to me. I like a fairly natural looking make-up and look for cream formulations over powders

Glossier is a good brand for very natural looks and I would start with the skin tint and stretch concealer…. This is very light. For cheeks a dupe of the Jones Road miracle balm by Revolution. You can double this up on lips but if you want a stronger look Number 7 do a balmy textured lipstick in colour Raspberry. Mascaras….I like definition but not loads of volume I like the L’Oréal telescopic and although I prefer Boy Brow by Glossier I think this L’Oreal product is ok for the money. If there’s any money left over I’d go for an eyeshadow crayon from Bobbi Brown in Stone.
