Doc Martens: which model?

Buying myself one pair. I walk a lot and take the Tube. Which ones are the most comfy and versatile in terms of colour and going with everything from dresses to trousers? I need a flat heel and have narrow feet.

I usually wear black, navy, blue, green and wine.

This might not be helpful, but I bought some DMs earlier in the year and I’ve been really disappointed with how fast the heels are wearing down in comparison to a pair of much cheaper boots I had before these. Other people have recommended Solovair on here (I think as boots manufactured where DMs used to be - might have got that wrong but they are made in England and DMs aren’t any more). Style-wise, I vote black with black laces for versatility but you might be less minimalist / wanting to look more alternative than me 😊

The pascals are a softer leather so even though mine needed breaking in still, less than the patented ones do. Mine are black so go with everything and are extremely versatile and go with everything!

I have these in black. Much better quality than DMs

I should have said I am currently in a country where DMs are cheap so am tempted. ( not fake ones!) Solovairs are rather over my budget.

Are DMs really that crap these days? thanks for the pascal's hint. Black with black laces might be most versatile but am tempted by a dark oxblood.

@CharlotteRumpling , they have an online outlet, and you can search for a retailer that has a sale. The quality is far better than DM.
I have a few pairs, and most were bought on ebay for about £45 - £65.

I got rid of my DMs after a brand new pair were showing a lot of wear to the soles despite not having ever been worn outside.

Sorry I meant black stitching, not laces! Oxblood sounds lovely 😍 Mine are also the Pascals and I too enjoyed the lack of need to break in.
