Curly hair problems

I think there should be a curly hair section or at least a hair section.

Anyway I have tight curls but it's very fine and has a tendency to be fluffy. I've had it cut quite short to get rid of all the damage. I have a lovely full fringe now but the parting between my fringe and the rest of my hair which I tie into a scrunchy looks like there's balding patch. I can't quite understand how it looks so thin at the scalp yet my hair looks full.

I think I'm going to need to wear a head band to cover it.
Have you got any other tips to make the bald patch not so obviou? I'm not sure if it's the way I'm parting it.

I guess I'm just wondering whether other curly hair people have this issue. It really worries me when I can see so much of my scalp.

We probably need to see a picture to be able to comment.

I have curly hair and everyone comments on how big/thick it is, but it’s really not, it’s just an illusion! I can gather it all in a fairly small hairband as it’s quite fine and the follicles are quite sparse. When I pull and part my hair in a way it doesn’t want to naturally fall, I’m also alarmed at seeing the lightness of my scalp and how thin my hair really is.
