Classic black coat (100% wool)

It should not be difficult to find but no luck up to now…
I am looking for a classic, smart, black coat for my mum. Aged 80+, size 16-18, she wants 100% wool, single breasted and lined (no double faced). No fancy shapes or lapels, just good tailoring and fabric. Around £500 but prepared to go up to £1,000 if I can find the holy grail.
Any ideas? I have not found anything on the high street.

Joseph. I bought an gorgeously soft and warm black single breasted coat from them last year. It was £900. It's actually a wool and cashmere blend, but other than that is exactly what you describe. Fits beautifully and looks clean and classic.

Love the hobbs one, but it doesn't fit me, I've tried the 10 too small, and the 12 too big.

Any other ideas? Joseph’s basic coat I thought she would say it is not long enough.

Max Mara - there are several that fit the bill.

Jigsaw city coats are beautiful material and well made. Only thing is that this year's version seems only to have a single button.

I have several and a black one exactly as you describe which cost around €800 about 5 or 6 years ago.

Maxmara have this style.

She’s had Max Mara in the past but I think she’s got a grey one in the larger size and it is a little bit tight. I am looking at Marina Rinaldi just now and have seen an interesting option. Thanks!
