I haven't shopped for a while and the website seems to different . So much so that I thought it wasn't the right shop ..

Why have they done that ? It am I in the wrong website ? Can someone link the one they are using please ?

I guess they re branded but it looks odd now and the short meryl jumper looks different ! 🤔

I've just had a look because I haven't really seen anything from Hush that I'd liked for a while - one of the models has an expression as though she'd punch you soon as look at you. Not really enticing me to buy.

I received a catalogue full of bollocks. Poems and their philosophy on life I think. Plus some pics of clothes. I binned it but it's put me off shopping there this season. I don't think I'm their target market.

juicelooseabootthishoose · 10/12/2023 08:16

Yes they rebranded. But clothes are the same.

AnneNotEmily · 10/12/2023 08:25

I shop there quite a lot but hadn’t been on their website for a few months. I’ve just bought a couple of nice jumpers from there and I’d say quality and style seem to be the same, just a different look on their website

Floisme · 10/12/2023 08:34

If they'd spent the money on upgrading their clothes rather than their website then I might have been interested.

MrsTwatInAHat · 10/12/2023 09:02

I can’t stand”philosophy on life” stuff from clothes shops. Tell me about your fabric production and eco efforts if you like, but not how to have a positive mindset/seize the day and I don’t want to read about some impossibly fit, yoga-mad world-travelling smug “brand ambassador” who obviously has a team of nannies. Aaargh. Outdoor brands like finisterre and north face are the worst for this. Toast is terrible for whimsying on about sunsets etc.

But the hush website doesn’t seem too bad, or at least that stuff seems to be optional. However they are doing that thing where you have to scroll through loads of huge pics to find things which seems to be a recent trend and is v annoying.

Candleabra · 10/12/2023 09:05

I was very tempted by skirt in Hush recently.
But it wasn’t lined, cheap fabric, dry clean only, and so long it would have dragged on the floor (I’m not short). And so so expensive. I don’t know who their market is, but no amount of new age bollocks can cover up for the poor quality clothes they’re trying to sell.

itsnothingoriginal · 10/12/2023 09:16

I'm only buying Hush on Vinted these days! Basically the stuff I used to like in their ranges before it got a bit boring and super overpriced for the quality.

I so agree about retailers overdoing it on the aspirational life goals....I just want to buy some nice clothes!

Nitgel · 10/12/2023 09:19

It's just rebranded. I got a sale preview this morning so the sale may be looming.

barbarahunter · 10/12/2023 09:25

I stopped buying from Hush because of the cheap fabrics they use. The clothes look great until you feel the material and wash them.

Perfectlystill · 10/12/2023 09:30

Their quality has gone really downhill as they're trying to maximise profit.

I haven't bought from them for a while now but I look at their stuff in John Lewis and it is Primark quality.

SaltNShakeCrisps · 10/12/2023 09:37

They have a new CEO and apparently since then they have changed a lot of things, that are now reflecting in the poorer quality items and dropping sales.

Floisme · 10/12/2023 09:49

I don't think they did themselves any favours when they took up that John Lewis concession. Despite the odd dodgy purchase, I'd still thought of them as a vaguely aspirational brand until I saw it all piled high in real life.

Perfectlystill · 10/12/2023 10:25

That's interesting @Floisme - I know what you mean. And thinking about it, my view of eg Temperley has changed since seeing it all on the racks at JL. Ditto quite a few other brands, come to think of it.

WhiskersPete · 10/12/2023 10:31

I really don't understand the love for Hush. Both items I've bought from them have been poor quality - thin, saggy material that has bobbled quickly.

CarrieMoonbeams · 10/12/2023 10:43

I used to buy loads of stuff from Hush, and I still regularly wear dresses and trousers from there that I've had for nearly 10 years - the fabric is lovely and they wash and iron up so well.

However ... I had a look at their dresses a few weeks ago and I was so disappointed with the quality. They just look so cheap now, and yet they're still charging plenty for them. Sadly not for me any more.

I went to AllSaints instead. I'm probably not their desired market really because I'm 60, but as long as I don't go for the really crazy asymmetric things (because at my age people would just feel sorry for me because I'd look like I'd buttoned up wrongly!), their clothes are very good quality.

EllaPaella · 10/12/2023 11:34

I used to love Hush but to be honest I don't think quality was ever consistently good, even for the last 10 years. I've been looking on the sale preview today and several jumpers I like are almost entirely acrylic with very little wool content but still very expensive. It used to be my go to store for clothes but I've almost completely lost interest over the last 2 years.

PullUpTheDrawbridge · 10/12/2023 11:59

The quality of Hush has always been awful! I had a something that went to shit within a few wears when my DS was a baby and I complained. They encouraged me to brush it before and after every wear. I wasn't even brushing my hair let alone my clothes. Refused to buy anything since.

LoveLabradors · 10/12/2023 12:41

Ten years ago I used to shop at Hush loads, hardly ever buy there now. The quality has always been hit and miss but now it’s super expensive too. I do buy in the sales, last winter I got a lovely quality cashmere roll neck and a brilliant silver sequin mini skirt that has worn very well (no sequin shedding). I got a few bits in the summer sale. I am not keen on the rebranding at all, I think it wants to attract a younger demographic but is failing to do so and is alienating long standing customers. Plus the prices are silly now. £69 for a pair of flannel pjs that have never washed well and always shrink!
hush hugely over expanded and has vast amounts of samey things and I suspect might be in trouble soon.

Talisin · 10/12/2023 13:54

It was my go to shop for years but I haven’t found anything that gives me that got-to-have feeling for ages. I used to say that I was so glad they weren’t sold through Next as that would be so dangerous to my credit account - well low and behold, they are now on Next and I’m just ‘meh’.

OnlyCorrect · 10/12/2023 13:59

Dunno, I've only read on here about its supposed heyday. It always looked like sad slumpy designs in poor quality cloth to me.

SwedishEdith · 10/12/2023 14:33

I bought a t shirt from them about 10 years ago. It just disintegrated. Became rags, holes under the harms. Dreadful.

Ordered something this Christmas and couldn't wait to take it off when I tried it on. Crispy, rough, poor quality tat.
