Silver jewellery

Does anyone have any suggestions for where to look for good quality silver jewellery please? I want to buy some earrings for a friend for a special birthday. I'm looking for something of a similar price range/ style to Pandora, but I'd like something a bit different (I always associate Pandora with teenagers and men doing last minute Christmas shopping!!)
Thank you.

Vintage/antique on ebay, etsy etc.

I've found lovely pieces in the secondhand market, online or in shops. Better quality, too.

I love my Daniella Draper silver pieces - plenty on Vinted/eBay, too.

I'm looking for new, not vintage/ second hand, but thank you for the suggestions.

Find a local jeweller/silversmith who makes and give them your business. There might be a local gallery, etc that sells their stuff but if you go direct you're not giving a cut to a middle man/woman.

Fine, but really, what's the difference when it comes to precious metals?

I wear mostly silver and my favourite pieces have come from a silversmith seller on Etsy called Toke Jewellery.

Try Etsy, but read about the seller. Some items are handcrafted, others appear to be bought in from ‘cheaper Chinese companies’.

Folksy also has a lot of handcrafted.

I tend to trace the company name before buying (Google, Facebook) to make sure the items are workshop made.

I was at a craft fair recently and one of the stalls had some lovely handmade pieces. She's got an Etsy shop: www.jewellerybyamybeth.etsy.com
Obviously it depends on your friends taste. Depending on budget there is also Oresome: www.oresomegallery.com

Have a look for these small businesses / jewellers (silver smiths):

Emily Nixon (also does gold)
Jason Jones
Clare Elizabeth Kilgour

I've got items from all of them and they are just fantastic.

Cloudywithsunnyspells · 09/12/2023 08:52

@LaurieStrode it's because it's a present. I'd happily buy second hand jewellery for myself, but some people are funny about, especially earrings.

Thanks everyone for the suggestions, will take a look at all the sites suggested .

Try Kit Heath. Lovely organic shapes.

I noticed recently that John Lewis had a good selection of nice and well priced silver jewellery.
(was looking for a flat silver necklace like Ashley Jensen in Shetland, probs not the only one) 😊

SXP Designs is great quality. I have bought 40th birthday gifts and 21sts from there too. Lovely stuff.

waltzingparrot · 09/12/2023 18:43

I like this company - good quality, reasonably priced and varied range.
