Dress to cater for work meeting and work Christmas meal

Hi,

Does anyone have any recommendations for dresses that would be suitable for a work meeting and then also be okay for a work Christmas meal in a nice restaurant. Ideally I’m looking for 3/4 length/long sleeve, midi length and v-neck.

When I had this dilemma the other day, I wore a satin bias cut skirt with a black top which had some detailing on the sleeve. For the work meeting, I work a black jacket over the top. I wore it without the jacket in the evening. I meant to take some more party-ish shoes with me to change into but forgot!

Perhaps I should have said - I am late 40s &, whilst I usually have little style, felt as though I was appropriately dressed for both events. There was a whole range of outfits at the party from women in cocktail style dresses to some still in business wear. However, most of the men wore the same suit in the evening as they'd worn in the office all day.

How about a rather plain navy knit dress with a Christmassy brooch? I see 4 different styles on Boden in knit/jersey/ponte.

I recently wore this in navy for something similar. It's an awful lot nicer in real life, I don't know how any marketing bod let these out into the world.
