Going out top - please help!

Can you please help me find a going out top for a Christmas night out - drinks then dinner. Fairly casual but want to look nice and like I've made a bit of an effort. All I can find online is either cropped or sequinned and high necked!

I'm a size 16, definitely an apple shape with a big bust. Looking for something with a v neck but not too low or sweetheart neckline that sort of drapes over the tummy - nothing clingy. I'd like sleeves too please as not keen on the tops of my arms.

Will be wearing with a lovely pair of black wide leg trousers and heels.

Struggling to find anything I like online and having just turned 40 I'm struggling with finding something that isn't too young or too old!

Not averse to sparkles - I just want to look good and sort of put together. I've seen a couple of tops but a few of them have been quite long and flowy and as I'm wearing with wide leg trousers it just seemed like a bit much fabric.

Any help much appreciated!!!

It might do. Some of the reviews said it comes up short which i never like in tops. I always feel like I have to pull them down all the time

I do like the second one of these - and actually they do it in real as well which is really lovely but again, I can't help feeling it's a little short and would spent all night trying to pull it down a bit!

I've got this shirt in the Large, it's sold out now but it looks great with wide leg trousers, its got little diamond buttons, it's not too big, shaped so it skims, semi sheer but still decent! and just long enough to cover my tummy - I wonder if you can look for something similar?

I don't have it but seen lots of pics. Scamp and Dude have a sequin ombre top which looks amazing and drapes.

How about this? I got this from Very and it is lovely - says it is Mint but the actual colour is more of a golden beige, And it is soft, silky and flowy. It dresses up or down beautifully.

I know you said you wanted V-neck which this isn't but I have this and its gorgeous! It's actually a lot brighter purple in real life and sparkly without being in your face. It hangs nicely, has long sleeves and probably could be dressed up or down.

Hmm I got a large as I’m 16/18 and it fits nicely, I would say it’s more on the fitted side rather than ring really big and baggy. Could you try a medium and a large and return one?
