What is this hairstyle called?

I have just had my hair cut and although I tried to describe to the stylist what I wanted I don't think he's done it like I wanted so I wondered if there's a better way of describing it or has it got a name

I want it longer on top and the sides shorter cut into my hard, Not much if any layering on top With this haircut, if you look at my whole head shape with this haircut as roughly a hexagonal shape

I have thick curly wavy hair that is more wavy on the top than the sides which are curly

I'd describe it as a mushroom shape!!

Most hairdressers aim to reduce the mushroom. Do u have a picture?

I had a haircut like that by accident once. DP said I looked like Crystal Tips.

@JaneJeffer I've looked up the bixie and it's a cross between the pixie and the bob - that might be what I want. Thank you
