Smart comfortable black trousers

I'm starting a new job in healthcare and the uniform is black trousers and white polo shirt. I am told that the trousers they provide are awful, and that most people buy their own. So I am considering doing the same. Any recommendations? I'm thinking about the smart jogger types as will need to be comfy and will be quite an active job with moving and handling. I don't want to spend a fortune. They will also need to be washable at 60 degrees and ideally no or minimal ironing! TIA

I wear yoga type trousers, the sort that are more like a straight legged version, not tight leggings. M & & have some in their gym range. I'll see if I can link.

Thank you these look great. Out of stock in my size but I've signed up for updates. Do you also wear polo shirts by any chance? I've been thinking about getting mens ones as the women's ones can be too fitted and I like them a bit more roomy.

Robell

I have these from M&S which are super comfy. I think they do in straight and slim as well as the wide leg.

I got mine from Ideal World for around £10, easy wash, non iron ,pull on and pull off with elastic waist

SpongeBobJudgeyPants · 07/12/2023 17:01

@RichTea63 I don't wear polo shirts. I'm just lazy, and like something to wear on my bottom half that doesn't need ironing that is more forgiving than skinny jeans/leggings. I would go for the mens polo tho, I do in the summer!

@SpongeBobJudgeyPantscan I ask do they they wash ok, its just I brought two pair of goodmove trousers a couple of years ago from m&s but they washed terribly the colour really faded after one wash, I do use a liquid for colours, I won't buy another pair from the brand as it put me off.

SpongeBobJudgeyPants · 07/12/2023 17:23

@lindyloo57 the ones I have wash fine. They are of a slightly, not shiny fabric, but something approaching that iuswim? May not be the exact ones I have linked to, but those were the only ones I could find when looking today.

SpongeBobJudgeyPants · 07/12/2023 17:24

I got them this year, so may be different to yours? Who knows!

lindyloo57 · 07/12/2023 17:29

Can I ask, have anyone found some comfy trousers like which are mentioned above, but I need some that doesn't knee out, if you know what mean, you take them off, and can see your knee shape in them, I had some wide leg joggers from hush that did that, I brought two pairs when they were in the sale, I must stop buying two items the same, as when I do they end up being rubbish.

KirstenBlest · 07/12/2023 18:25

@lindyloo57 , the brand I recommended upthread don't 'knee out' but they're not joggers or wide leg.

lljkk · 07/12/2023 18:37

Kids school trousers, adjustable waists, cheap as chips 2nd hand on ebay.

lindyloo57 · 07/12/2023 18:47

@KirstenBlest I just took a look, I'm really looking for something to lounge around in, when at home, I normally just wear leggings with a oversize jumper, would like to find wide leg joggers, which keep there shape.

KirstenBlest · 07/12/2023 18:59

@lindyloo57 , those are more for work and are a bit like 'slacks' but they are comfortable. At home I wear fleecy joggers from primark but they're not stylish. The knee out a little but not like sweatshirt-type joggers. Or I wear leggings.

Ninepins. Swedish

I'm NHS M&S do great joggers, fully elasticated, don'y need ironing, straight leg and smart. I wear them everyday and they are so comfortable, they have a black stripe down the side.

Hellenabe · 08/12/2023 06:34

H&M have the legging trousers though very long so I had to get them altered. I love them though.

They are called flared leggings

Second these

SpongeBobJudgeyPants · 08/12/2023 17:08

I have in the past had Landsend Starfish straight trousers, that are good, a bit more costly than M & S. Usually offers on them.
