recommendations wanted for a contour stick please

I bought a Nyx one the other day and it's just not visible on my skin at all, just disappears even though I'm as pale as anything and it looks brown on the stick.

Never done contouring before but wanting to give it a go. I'm mid 40s, pale. Do not want anything shimmery. Subtle look wanted.

Westman Atelier face trace stick in Biscuit is beautifully subtle and somewhat idiot proof for contouring (blends in seamlessly, just gives a nice subtle sculpting nothing full on) and is a really good colour if you're on the pale side. It's not cheap though, unfortunately.

I have the Clinique chubby stick which is great, good colour and easy to blend.

I don't mind paying £ if it works well. I can also go to Sephora next week so can eye up some more pricey brands there.
