Hello, can anyone recommend an eye makeup remover that'll take off waterproof mascara but won't make my eyes sting and water?

Thank you!

Nivea Double Effect Waterproof Eyemakeup Remover. Normally about £4 but usually on offer somewhere - half price in Boots at the moment.

Jewelanemone · 05/12/2023 20:29

Thank you 😊

I forgot to say I'd prefer non-oily, if possible.

The Nivea one does not feel at all oily - well, not to me, anyway

bakewellbride · 05/12/2023 21:06

I just use coconut oil. From the cooking section in Aldi.

bakewellbride · 05/12/2023 21:06

Oh non oily sorry

loveyouradvice · 05/12/2023 21:39

I use simple and really like it... light smells nice etc

La Roche-Posay Respectissime makeup remover is my holy grail.
Great for sensitive eyes, no stinging, very effective and comfortable to use.

PrincessHoneysuckle · 05/12/2023 21:59

Baby lotion.Ive used it for 25 years

DramaAlpaca · 05/12/2023 22:52

I like Clinique's Take the Day Off.

Saxendi · 05/12/2023 22:53

Also agree if you want a non stinging gentle eye make up remover which is effective
La Roche Posay definitely worth getting!

Nannyfannybanny · 05/12/2023 22:55

Either vaseline, that was recommended to me by a plastic surgeon I worked with. It's gentle, none perfumed and prevents wrinkles. Or Blephisol solution, pharmacy £13

Jewelanemone · 05/12/2023 23:00

Thank you everyone, I'll have a Google 😊

Pure vaseline jelly, takes it all off .

Jewelanemone · 10/12/2023 06:20

Vaseline, eh? Doesn't it leave your eyes feeling greasy?

I use an eyelash serum which is supposed to be applied to clean, dry lashes so I'm guessing it wouldn't work if they were coated with Vaseline.

Interesting suggestion though 🙂

Bioderma sensibio micellar water. Exactly what you’re looking for, thank me later.

Sometimes I go on a spending cut and try something cheaper but it’s never worth it and I keep coming back to this. It really is the best.

ElPulguilla · 10/12/2023 07:06

Just the thought of that greasy tacky feeling of Vaseline all over my eye sockets makes my teeth itch 😂 though it probably works very well.

thelongroad · 10/12/2023 07:13

Vaseline works really well at taking everything off, but my eyes weren't at all happy with it - I ended up with weird foggy eyes the next day that were a nightmare with contact lenses. Even when I tried wiping the residue vaseline off with a flannel after cleaning makeup, it still somehow clogged my eyes up.

I've been looking for similar to you OP but haven't found anything that isn't oily that actually works at getting waterproof mascara off properly. Am currently using the Garnier 2-in-1, which is oily but doesn't leave too much of a slick. Still wipe it off afterwards with a flannel though.

I like the Superdrug vitamin E makeup remover. Cruelty free as well if that’s important, not too expensive and I find it both effective and not too oily either.
