Aviator Jackets

I'd quite like one of those black suede/faux fur avaitor jackets. I'm pear shape so to get it to zip I'd have to buy 1/2 sizes up but then it's too big on top. When styling are these generally like leather jackets in that they're worn open? I know it's personal preference, just looking some advice!

They are often worn open but really it defeats the point, they’re supposed to be warm! The whole point when worn by pilots like my DF was.
No idea where you’d get a fake one but Lakeland Leathers sell real sheepskin ones. Sales coming up. I’ve had one of theirs for years, still great condition but they look ok when a bit battered.

Thank you both! I think I might take the plunge with one - tried one on in m&s this afternoon - it zipped up and I didn't look like a gorilla 😂

I have one it even though I do wear it open, it’s one of the warmest coats I’ve ever had.

Zara have a lovely black one at the moment.

I like the M&S one. To me there's no point of a jacket that doesn't look nice or fit when fastened.

I think real leather and shearlings ones can be a good investment, but they are so heavy and can be too hot.
