Shape wear

Hello! My new year's resolution is to address my wobbly bits and start investing in some really good shape wear.
I've made a start with a spanx garment that covers my midriff and attaches to my bra. It has an open gusset....I can't quite bring myself to wear it without wanting to wear knickers over the top but obvs that ruins the whole smoothing effect 🙈.
On hindsight I should have gone for poppers but I honestly never thought I'd have an issue with it. Help me get over it! Or hit me with ideas. I'm a size 14 and I'm fairly tall, somewhere between hourglass and rectangle (don't think I have a definable enough waist to be hourglass).

I'm interested in this too. Got a dress that would look a lot better if I could tuck my tummy in a bit!

@endgame67 I went for it with my gussetless shape wear.... absolute disaster 🙈 so whatever I get next will have to be popper or hook and eye fastening. Wasn't keen about how it fastened to my bra either but not done enough research to know what the alternative is to that as I definitely need something that smooths my midriff.

OP, avoid anything with poppers or hook and eye fastening; when you go for a wee you risk deflowering yourself all over again 😂. And it hurts.

For a practical alternative with a dress, consider a M&S control slip. I appreciate you have already spent money though. You wear your own bra with it, or no bra us an iption depending on the dress. I tend not to wear knickers with it (it’s hardly going to ride up) but obviously the choice is yours. It holds in the right bits but is less restrictive than other shapewear and much more practical when you go to the loo.

Thank you, this is exactly the advice I'm after. I shall take a look at those.

Thank you! This looks like what I'm after too. And not too expensive 👍🏼

Do they make these slips for size 8 women too?
