IPL facial

I’ve been sold this as a miracle for getting rid of age spots and skin rejuvenation but wondering if it’s worth £200 and I’d be better spending on more luxurious skin care?

To be honest OP, you would probably need a series of IPL treatments to get the best results, which can end up costing a lot. And it may not give you the results you expect.
I'm doing a series of 4 and after the first one I haven't seen huge results, although we'll see after the next few. Also I don't have many age spots, just some freckles, redness and discolouration. I'm also going to get a face peel in a few months to improve my skin texture.

There are some skincare ingredients which have been shown to improve hyperpigmentation, like hydroquinone (only available on prescription), azelaic acid, arbutin, niacinamide etc. Also I believe tretinoin or a retinol would help over time, but these will take time and your best bet would be to try a few different things.

Thank you @Farmageddon I already use Tretinoin, although need to stop a month before the facial.
I do have a few brown/ sun damage spots but nothing too bad.
What I’d like is the heathy glow without the hefty price tag of Profhilo!

I had this done, it was called a photofacial, which I think is the same as IPL facial. It was a course of around 5 I think, it was a while ago so don't remember that well.

It worked really well, I had a sun damaged chest and it got rid of about 80% of the pigmentation. You don't see much after the first treatment as they amp up the power each session so it's quite weak at the beginning. I takes a while as well for the pigmentation to come to the surface and shed off. On the face I didn't see too much change, as I didn't have many lines or sun damage anyway (had always been a lot more careful of my face than my chest).
