Hi, I thought it might be fun to discuss our favourite makeup item of 2023. Your most used or most loved, you choose the criteria.

Mine is the Natasha Denona I need a Nude Eyeshadow Pallette. I have pale skin so each of the shades works on me and I like to use the shades as "one and done" and also to build a nice everyday eye look.

Collection Parisian Pinks eyeshadow palette - so cheap but such pretty colours

CopperLion · 03/12/2023 07:11

Jones Road Miracle Balm. Only just discovered it when a friend brought it on a girls’ trip away with her and insisted we all try it. Creates a lovely dewy look on the skin and is different from other highlighters I’ve tried. Pricey but will go a long way I think.

jesterdourt · 03/12/2023 07:21

@CopperLion how do you use yours?

I have a bb or cc cream from Erborian, love it.

dullandgrey · 03/12/2023 07:36

Mine also Erborian cc cream (feel like I always recommend it on every thread lol) also clinque black honey as an every day balm, the colour really suits me. Also love Mac lipstick in Mehr shade which gives my face some definition when I feel I need more. Also a NYX eye brow pen which I can draw small strokes to fill in the gaps, very natural looking. There's probably a few more also 😊

Hotmess1 · 03/12/2023 07:46

Nyx lift & snatch (I think that’s the name of it) eyebrow pencil thing for drawing in eyebrow strokes - brilliant and cheap too!!

QueefofSheena · 03/12/2023 07:49

I love Mac Mehr. I recently succumbed to a Victoria Beckham eyeliner in 'Olive' which I absolutely love. I totally get the hype. I've tried others, such as Glimmersticks but this is next level

SuspiciousDuck · 03/12/2023 07:53

I know it’s a bit of a cliche, but I love my Pillow Talk lipstick from Charlotte Tilbury. I have quite fat lips and lipstick usually looks ridiculous but this one is gorgeous.

Strawberryshortcake90 · 03/12/2023 07:54

Dior Backstage highlighter palette

CopperLion · 03/12/2023 07:58

@jesterdourt I bought au natural for an all-over dewy look. I tap it on after other makeup across cheekbones, forehead (yes!), bridge of nose and tip of chin. I also have Miami Beach for a blush which is lovely too, but won’t be going all over my face!

KevinDeBrioche · 03/12/2023 07:59

I’ve really liked using the REFY brow tint
VB kajal liner in cocoa
erborian CC / ilia skin tint depending how much coverage I need / want

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 03/12/2023 08:34

Estée Lauder Futurist foundation- good coverage but also light and a bit glowy. I love it.

Otherwise my favourites are all old favourites, rather than new in 2023:
Dandelion and Roller Lash by Benefit
Milk cream blusher stick
Chanel red lipstick

Rina66 · 03/12/2023 09:19

All three of these I re buy as soon as they're nearly finished....
Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush Flawless Setting Spray
Beauty Pie Waterproof Mascara
Huda Lip Pencil in Vivid Pink which isn't vivid or very pink!

I picked up "Olive" this year too. Its gorgeous and not as in your face green as I'd feared

I've loved reading your replies - I might have to try this erborian cream

Chanel cream bronzer- a little goes a long way

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 03/12/2023 10:09

Refy cream bronzer
Lisa Eldridge foundation (not new or new to me but my absolute GOAT)
Drunk Elephant B Goldi drops

ChristmasTreeMagic · 03/12/2023 11:36

I also came on to say Victoria Beckham kajal liner in olive. I have red hair & this liner is fabulous! I'm def getting more.
I also bought the sample of her new perfumes & love them too. I was far more pleasantly surprised than I expected to be.

Skincare wise I switched to Pestle & Mortar earlier in the year & I'm astounded by the difference in my skin.

learieonthewildmoor · 03/12/2023 11:52

Clinique Chubby Stick blush and highlighter. Quickest and easiest makeup to apply I’ve ever had. Colour looked great on bare skin.
Had to stop using it because it’s got oil in it. So sad.

yarnwitch · 03/12/2023 13:14

Elf foundation.
I have very tricky, oily, reactive skin. This has good coverage, lasts well without sliding off, gives a nice smooth glowy finish and doesn't irritate my skin or eyes. It's inexpensive too.

PinkArt · 04/12/2023 00:00

I've just discovered Charlotte Tilbury Hyaluronic Happikiss thanks to black Friday and love it.

snowfootsteps · 04/12/2023 01:20

Another VB kajal fan - in Ash and Cocoa. Agree too about her new scents - bought the Discovery Set and really like them.

Also really liking the Jones Road Mascara.

PurpleWhirple · 04/12/2023 08:19

I discovered Lisa Eldridge lipsticks this year and will be devastated if she ever discontinues velvet rain.

Tempted by a few of the eye products mentioned here. Tell me more about this nudes palette OP. I have pale skin and auburn hair and tend to find things marketed as "nudes" make me look like a corpse

MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 05/12/2023 00:51

Benefit Dandelion blusher and Laura Mercier cake tightliner.

mdinbc · 05/12/2023 03:24

I've re-purchased L"Oreal Telescopic lengthening Mascara which is my go-to now. Another fan of Clinique Black Honey Almost Lipstick; I have one for my handbag as well as the make up drawer.

Another good purchase is Maybelline superstay Ink crayon in Enjoy The View. It's king of a peachy nude perfect for summer. I used it on vacation and it stayed all day, even swimming in the ocean.

SpamFritterSandwich · 05/12/2023 09:38

Mac foundation
