Can anyone recommend one? My eyelashes are so short and pathetic.

But everytime I read the reviews on Boots or Amazon and a few people say how their eyes were damaged by the eyelash serum......I chicken out of buying Confused

I have used rapid lash a few times over the years. It works really well but as soon as you stop the treatment they will revert so upkeep is very costly which makes me give up.

Ladymarycrawley1920 · 02/12/2023 17:20

I use Uk Lash. It’s really good, my eyes and eyelids haven’t changed at all but my eyelashes are now so long they literally bash off my glasses 🤣🤣

Jewelanemone · 02/12/2023 17:21

Revitalash. I've been using it since the beginning of the year and my eyelashes are amazing. I would never have believed it if anyone had told me what a difference it would make. I buy it on eBay as it's horribly expensive.

Just seen this 40% off on beauty bay

kenyaswhiterefrigerator · 02/12/2023 17:25

Rapid lash or Olaplex Lashbond. Doesn't do any damage to the lashes and does make a difference within a few weeks.

However as others have said if you stop they will go back to normal so it is a fairly expensive habit but worth it IMO

It is SO expensive. I didn't realise it was sold on ebay

Just looked them up and revitalash is nearly 4 times more expensive than uk lash. And about the same quantity (3.5ml and 3 ml). But the revitalash site says one bottle lasts 6 months. How long does the uk lash bottle last? Does anyone know?

EmmaStone · 02/12/2023 17:41

I've used UK Lash and currently using Revitalash. I personally can't see any difference between the 2 (but both make my lashes grow), so once my Revitalash has run out, I'll be back to the UK Lash.

monpetitlapin · 02/12/2023 17:45

Watch out for buying the more expensive ones at cheap prices on sites like Ebay or Amazon private sellers, they're often fakes or expired stock that's inactive.

Watch out for ones with dodgy names from brands you've never heard of, there is an absolute glut of non-real brands coming in from China and at best they don't work, at worst they can be really dangerous, and this is something you're putting near your eyes. Five star review manipulation happens a lot with beauty products.

Secondly, any that use prostaglandin analogues (so all of the ones that actually work on your lashes) will reduce the amount of fat in your eye socket, which can make you look like you're ageing.

LittleRedDots · 02/12/2023 17:50

Does anyone know how these things a actually work?

pudseypie · 02/12/2023 17:53

I started using UK Lash in August and my lashes are definitely longer and thicker. I'm still on the same tube although. You have to remember to use it every night. I'm very impressed by it.

Jewelspun · 02/12/2023 17:54

Vaseline. I use on my eyelashes and nailed for nearly fifty years and my nails are strong and supple and my eyelashes are lovely.

I also use it on my face and it's kept wrinkles away.

the reports on these serums causing loss of orbital fat would give me pause

Could you explain this please?

if you read the final para in @monpetitlapin post she sums it up pretty well. Serums containing prostaglandin as the active can reduce the amount of fat around your eyes resulting in an aged/hollowed look.

Ladymarycrawley1920 · 02/12/2023 18:37

@BettyPhuckzer no issues with my eyes or skin around my eyes at all. And I am very susceptible to hyper pigmentation so I would think if anyone would get that from a lash serum it would be me. But I haven’t. No changes to my eye sockets or skin or appearance (I’ve been using it for around a year) other than my freakishly long eyelashes!! My lash tech told me about it. I noticed that had started selling Revitalash in the salon and ask her about it. She said it was good….but then whispered to to me that Uk lash was at least as good and much cheaper (she’s been my beautician for a while - I love her 😍 ) so I gave it a try and honestly? It’s the best beauty product I’ve bought. I still have LvL but now my eyelashes curl so much and are so long they almost reach my eyebrows! The one thing I will say is that it did absolutely nothing for my lower eyelashes. I put a thin line on both top and bottom lashes and whilst the top ones grew massively, the bottom ones haven’t changed at all? No idea why that might be and I’m not bothered, I think really long lower eyelashes would look weird, but I have definitely noticed that they are different? I use it once a day and buy a new tube every 4-5 months.

Darklane · 02/12/2023 19:15

I used UK Lash for about a year. My lashes grew to amazing lengths but I stopped using it , not because of any fat loss but because it turned the skin on my eyelids & under the eye red which needed concealer to cover. Never usually need concealer as I don’t normally have redness or dark shadows.

KDPC841922 · 02/12/2023 19:29

Nu Skin do an awesome lash serum

ChilliPB · 02/12/2023 20:11

Be very careful with the prostaglandin based ones. They work and make your lashes longer but can cause periorbital fat loss - I wouldn’t take the risk. I reckon they’ll be banned for cosmetic use at some point.

BeckyWithTheGoodBear · 02/12/2023 21:03

Spectaculash is hormone free and worked brilliantly for me with no side effects.

I had been using UK Lash but it was making the skin around my eyes very dark.

BettyPhuckzer · 02/12/2023 21:07

Thanks everyone. I think on balance I've decided to get a non hormone serum
