Winter boots

I’m in the market for a new pair of winter boots. I want warm, decent grippy sole, suitable for the school run and dog walking across fields and hills. Ideally a taller boot because the aforementioned fields feature a lot of mud. And, if all that isn’t demanding enough I would like them to look good too.

Does this unicorn footwear exist?

Dubarry Galway! I bought a pair last year, walk 50ish miles a week and mostly through rocky woods. Bloody expensive but they have proven more than worth it already. Shop around for deals too, if you’re not too fussy about the colour.

Search for ‘country boots’ you’ll get lots that fit that description that way

Yes. I got some knee length proper sheepskin boots with thick, grippy soles from TKMaxx for £50. Bear paw is the make.

DMs with fluffy insoles perfect for school run, muddy walks and after a wipe down nice for work - took weeks to break in but now are heavenly

Or soft and fleece lined Hunter wellies are another firm fave of mine

Country boots is the exact thing I should have been googling. Thank you.

anyone with any experience of Ariat? I like the look of some of the styles.

I should say I have wellies but they aren’t warm enough now -I’ve got cold damage in my feet and it’s freezing fog here. Same for DMs. I love them but they aren’t enough if I’m out for any length of time.
