Control tights without the shorts bit

I can't think of a better way to word it - I'm going out for my Xmas do next weekend and wearing a little black dress. I'd like a pair of black control tights to wear with, but all the ones I've seen have a really obvious bit at the top where the control bit is (will attach a pic of what I mean). The dress I'm wearing is quite short and if it rides up I don't want the tights to be that obvious - has anyone got any ideas of tights that might fit the bill?

I know exactly what you mean, but I don't think it is able to exist. In order to provide some control the material would need to made from a thicker thread and therefore be darker/visibly different from the leg section. You can get seamless sheer tights, but they won't provide any control. See the ones below from M&S (they do a more sheer version too, 10 denier I think) Or alternatively go for shaping tights in say 60 or 80 denier as the knicker section won't be so noticeable.

I agree with @WinchGirl . I’ve never seen them. I accept more is needed to give them the “oomph” but l fail to see why they can’t be made with more of a knicker cut top.

The seam free Autograph tights she has shown here are good though; so comfy! I’ve mentioned them on S&B before.

An alternative might be sheer to waist tights with a control slip (see M&S) but l suspect if you have a short dress the slip may be too long.

That's what I love about this place. You always learn something new. I never realised that you could get sheer tights with high leg knicker sections.
