Roll up, roll up, there doesn't seem to be an M&S thread that we can find yet, so please join in to discuss here!

General rules: please don't disclose what the product is until after 7am on the day that it's due to be opened. No spoilers, if you want to open in a different order then go ahead, but please only discuss the product on or after its specific opening date here!

Happy opening everybody, enjoy!

I'm not a fan of the nuxe oil but there's always a variation of it with m&s

grayhairdontcare · 03/12/2023 12:48

@RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie
Small bottles of booze
Sweets
Nail varnish
Mini screwdrivers
Face masks
Hand cream
Seeds

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 03/12/2023 12:51

Thanks for the ideas. I might just go with edibles as anybody who wants something like a screwdriver or cable thing will probably already have them.

I could easily do one for dd with perfume samples etc in, but the men are harder.

Where are all the fortune telling fish when you need them?!

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 03/12/2023 12:52

Seeds a great idea!

Cupofteaandpacketofbiscuits · 03/12/2023 13:49

I love the Nuxe oil. I have fine hair too but a very tiny amount (warmed up first between hands) smooths the ends and flyaways (I wouldn't apply it liberally).

It's also good for dry hands, cuticles and heels as well as legs post-shave, or mixing with body lotion. I already use a facial oil I like (No7 Youthful) so I probably won't use this one for face.

BlowingAway · 03/12/2023 14:08

I use the Nuxe oil anyway so this is useful for travel.

I use it all over my body either alone or a bit mixed with another oil or cream. I don't tend to use it on hair or face. Love the scent.

tellmewhenthespaceshiplandscoz · 03/12/2023 14:24

I always used to be a bit meh about todays offering however this year I took a bottle away on holiday and used it for -

  • Using sparingly on wet hair after washing which helped a bit with my frizz prone hair especially as we were in italy in July and there was no way in hell I was using a hairdryer in that heat Grin
  • a bit rubbed into my shins before going out of an evening and maybe on arms to make them look nice and glowy and smelt lovely
  • rubbed into cuticles
  • and possibly the most surprising use (and this is only helpful if it doesn't irritate your skin) was to put on a cotton pad and gently rub the sticky residue off my, ahem, butt cheek when removing my HRT patch on swop day Grin

So yes actually very helpful and one teeny bottle will keep me sorted for a few holidays!

tellmewhenthespaceshiplandscoz · 03/12/2023 14:26

I've also used (again especially sparingly in this case) to rub on my upper body before a shower and my skin feels lovely after I've washed it off and the bathroom smells like a spa

tellmewhenthespaceshiplandscoz · 03/12/2023 14:27

Not sure I'd use on my face but only because it's highly sensitive which is annoying

concernedmumhelp · 03/12/2023 14:28

My dd has loads of very thick, unruly hair. Hoping we can use the Percy and Reed as a detangler and the Nuxe as a sort of leave in conditioner.

Tangomango1 · 03/12/2023 15:34

I already use this oil as a body moisturiser & I'm very pleased to have a travel sized bottle. It's been 3 good days so far.

Houseplanter · 03/12/2023 16:54

There's a nail polish listed in the contents I want to open before a Christmas Event on the 14th.

If I haven't opened it by then I may have to succumb to a furtle...

Sluj · 03/12/2023 17:28

There's a nail varnish coming ? I suppose I could have predicted it but I've been trying to avoid any contents spoilers and confining myself to this opening thread. 😒

Houseplanter · 03/12/2023 17:32

Oh apologies @Sluj, as the contents are there on the packaging (and what I based my choice on) I thought that would be ok to post.

I'll say no more.

grayhairdontcare · 03/12/2023 17:32

@Houseplanter no spoilers please

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 03/12/2023 17:43

The contents were on display in store and listed on the box. I deliberately didn't look too closely, but I'm surprised that people really don't know anything that's in it. I've still got two unused hideous pink nail varnishes from summer boxes, so I really hope that any nail varnish is not that colour!

PepsiCoco · 03/12/2023 17:44

I thought it was nail oil at first.
I’ve now opened it and slapped a load on my face, came out a bit fast! Feels nice to be fair, not overly greasy despite slathering the stuff on. Probably good for moisture now the weather has turned cold.

MrsWidgerysLodger · 03/12/2023 18:00

Never know what to do with this stuff but I tend to turn into a cornflake given my poor dry skin this time of year. Just used on legs and arms and it was rather nice (oils always make me breakout on my face so not risking it!)
Can't say I'd repurchase but happy to continue using as a body oil until it runs out.

Also used the hair no oil oil today. Found that to be okay but it won't replace my regular hair oil. Again will happily use what's there but won't repurchase.

MrsRuldolph · 03/12/2023 18:39

I was happy enough with the no oil oil yesterday...but this morning I was pleasantly surprised that my hair didn't look like its normal haystack!

I can't usually get away with just combing my hair as it normal has a slight frizz and kinks in all directions without heat( very fine hair, bob length) but yesterday's blow dry was still good to go.

I'm not a fan of facial oils, so I like the suggestions above to use on holiday...I will try it out on my face first x

All the advents I'm opening this year were gifts, so I don't really know what's coming (fun!) Only really shop food from M&S so haven't seen this one at all.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 03/12/2023 19:34

Ahhh, fair enough, Fluff.

Just tried the Nuxe oil on my legs and like it. The ones I had before were glittery but this is nicer for being plain - smells lovely.

Also tried the hair oil on towel dried hair and then blow dried it. Initial results are pleasing, but the real test will be what it's like in the morning.

NeedWineNow · 03/12/2023 20:26

Late to the opening party today as I was out early this morning but very pleased with the Nuxe oil. Love it to give a bit of shimmer over the party season and then will pop it in my holiday box as it is a great travel size.

so far so good!

HeyBulldog · 03/12/2023 20:47

We were away over the weekend so I've just opened today's box. It's a great size for travel and will definitely come in useful as a hair and body oil for me.

So far I've been impressed with everything. I haven't used the Percy and Reed hair oil yet as I have curly hair which can be a bit unruly. Has anyone found it useful for frizz?

Ooh did you get the shimmer version?

TokyoSushi · 03/12/2023 20:53

Ha! I've read the contents list about 10 times! (I'm a person who peeks at presents!)
