M&S Beauty Advent Calendar 2023 Opening Thread

Roll up, roll up, there doesn't seem to be an M&S thread that we can find yet, so please join in to discuss here!

General rules: please don't disclose what the product is until after 7am on the day that it's due to be opened. No spoilers, if you want to open in a different order then go ahead, but please only discuss the product on or after its specific opening date here!

Agree, very nondescript. Not sure if I'll use it. My DD6 said it smelled of farts😂

DH just compared its scent to these yellow things they used to put in urinals to disguise the wee smell 😐

But I've discovered the eyebrow thing makes my thin eyebrows actually look a bit thicker somehow. So that turned out to be a win after all

I love the perfume but won't use the brow stuff. Happy to arrange a swap if you fancy it?

Very happy with today as I do usually like the Shay & Blue perfume's.

I haven't tried it out yet & after some of the posts above, I am a little wary 😂

Its a warmer upperer! Definitely nicer scent now than at first and different to stuff I already have. Decent size too...

@CointreauVersial, I love Shay and Blue perfumes, but also thought this one was a stinker when I sprayed it on!

But I’ve just smelled my wrist now and it smells better - not so strong!

It's the first time I've tried Atropa Belladonna & I love it!
It reminds me of YSL Nu (which was one of my favourite perfumes in the Noughties then it disappeared)

I was expecting because of the name (Atropa Belladonna means Deadly Nightshade which is part of the family that tomatoes, peppers, aubergines, potatoes & tobacco belong to) for this to smell a bit like greenhouses, tomato stems & earthy.

It does have an an earthy element to it - patchouli, but that's all.

Definitely a repeat purchase.

I agree @TracyBeakerSoYeah it's not long lasting and I've topped it up a second time today.

The dry down is lovely and reminds me a bit of Lolita Lempicka which I used to wear a lot - there's a 90s vibe!

Didn't like the perfume unfortunately, too heavy for me. Today's hair cream smells better! Going to try it later.

Mixed feelings about today’s. I love Aveda and would really have appreciated a shampoo or conditioner. I rarely use this kind of product, but DD might.

It might go for a swap if we do that at the end. 😍

I am really happy with both the perfume and the Aveda, especially the Aveda as it's the type of product I want to try but don't want to commit to the full size to first.

So far I love them all, except I'm not so keen on the lipstick and the lipgloss (only because the shades don't quite suit).

I like the boxes being the same size too.

Today is the first opening where I've felt a bit 'meh'. I'm not a fan of Aveda products as a rule, although I do like the smell. That said I'll give it a go as I'm hoping I might be pleasantly surprised. It's a good size to test.

Disappointed with today's as I don't use styling creams. Probably due to me not styling my hair very often unless long and straight counts. Are they designed to keep hair in place or styled for longer?

I opened without my specs on and assumed it was a leave in conditioner Confused which would be fab as I'd have put it in my holiday bag

I’ve got the dreaded lurgy, so can’t smell the perfume.

Usually like Aveda stuff, but would prefer a shampoo.

I was going to say not a great one for me, but I thought that about the hair oil which I'm enjoying, so I'll keep an open mind on this until I've tried.

Today's hair creme is a hit for me, I have fine,frizzy hair and it's calmed the frizz perfectly without weighing my hair down.

I have tried this before & loved it so I'm happy!

I think my hair gets used to different shampoos, conditioners & treatments so I do swap things around a lot so it is good to try this again.

Pleased with today’s. I used the Percy and Reed on my roots and the Aveda on mid lengths and ends and they worked really well together. Decent size of product too
