The company founder has just been on radio 4 and in the back of that I’ve ordered 2 bottles. Has anyone tried them- they seem to get good reviews. Also wondering how they ge tawau with it legally! They’re not shy about listing the “ inspiration “ for their copies!

I think they use fancy science machines scientific name of course to find the specific compounds and then just make their own copies of the designer perfumes. There are a few companies that do this now. Perfume Parlour is another which I've been using for years ad they've been fantastic.

Yes, he sounded very shifty! Though presumably he's legit, otherwise he wouldn't have been on the Beeb? Great ad for his company anyway.

I use Scent Scientists' ISO super E, which is a dupe for Escentric Molecules' Molecule 01 (enough with the chemical names now). Smells lovely, disappears within seconds, then you get faint mysterious wafts of it all day.

The scent scientist website is fascinating. They have fragrance essences for all sorts of smells. I might re visit my candle making ideas.

I didn't hear him on the radio but have one of the noted aroma dupes (a Tom Ford one). I figured it was worth a try for £20 ish and it's pretty good - not an exact match but I like it and a few people have commented favourably on it.

The interview was so strange. First question was "How do you get away with it?". And then onto the poor guy getting kicked out of university and the US. It was like the kind of interview you have in nightmares.
