Seller not posting - Vinted

Anyone had this happen.

Bought an item on 22nd so last Thursday. Seller didn't go online until the weekend when she messaged to say she'd post that day. All fine.

Heard nothing else no tracking info and she hasn't been online, so I messaged her yesterday. No reply but she has now created a shipping label but still hasn't posted.

Vinted says if the seller doesn't send within 5 working day they'll cancel automatically. Does this actually happen though? .

Yes, I've had sales cancelled at refunded when sellers don't post. I think it's quite normal especially when some people have items up for sale for ages and ages and forget about them.

DuploTrain · 29/11/2023 15:08

Yes it’s automatic

Frostymorningscosyevenings · 29/11/2023 15:09

Sorry 22nd was last Wednesday, so it's been 5 working days.

How quickly did Vinted take to cancel and refund?

Annoyingly she'd only put the item on the day I bought it.

does this also apply on ebay? I am having the same problem

I find things from Vinted take far too long to arrive and be posted

39and · 29/11/2023 15:10

It's refunded almost straight away after the 5 working days.

mrmagpie · 29/11/2023 15:10

Yeah it happens every now and again. It's actually much better than eBay where you have to wait ages before you can raise a dispute, vinted just cancel the order and you get a refund, you don't have to do anything.

If I'm buying an item I really want or need and there are a few for sale, I try to find a seller with loads of reviews, it shows they are active on the site and they usually want to protect their stars by posting quickly.

Think they get the five full working days so that would be Thursday, Friday, Monday, Tuesday and today. If they don't post today you will likely be refunded tomorrow.

Frostymorningscosyevenings · 29/11/2023 15:12

Sorry if I'm being dense but if I purchased in the 22nd, shouldn't time be up now or will it be tomorrow?

She had all positive reviews and even messaged to say she'd post, now she's created a shipping label so not sure what's going on.

It’s 7 days after creating label not including weekends, had a few sellers annoyingly get around the 5 day limit by creating label on last day so I had to wait another week for vinted to refund, you can however click cancel purchase agreed with seller to cancel without the automatic negative review on your account which I usually do if I have no response about shipping and it’s been longer than a few days

Is that really true because if so that's so annoying. She left it until yesterday to create the shipping label.

I could have bought another item the same from someone else.

Also have this problem. Bought 23rd and nothing from seller. Does this mean no time limit to create label, and then its 7 days from then?

raffegiraffe · 01/12/2023 18:06

Sometimes there is a delay as all the inpost lockers are full when the seller tries to post. I've had this many times.
Making a shipping label is a good sign so it could be that

WhereIsBebèsChambre · 01/12/2023 19:28

My seller still hasn't printed a label so prob not a good sign?

Crzy · 05/12/2023 04:15

@WhereIsBebèsChambre its usually 5 from ordering to print label then they get extra few days if they download the label, rather irritating as I’ve had some wait to generate it just to never send, hope you’ve received your package now!

I think you have to take Vinted for what it is.

I can find great stuff at very reasonable prices. Sometimes you find it's bee sold on another site but getting the money back within a week seems good to me and loads less hassle than eBay.

And I had one lovey seller who had put the dress in storage get in touch months later to ask if I still wanted it and set up the sale again and it's one of my best fitting dresses!

Jo9161 · 16/01/2024 15:01

No. Because I've literally this past 2 days lost out on other items I wanted and would have the money for if my time wasn't wasted by none senders. Or buyers who can't be bothered to click they recieved item fine. This is another thing with sellers you give the ones that do send positive feedback. Yet even when politely asked they never return the positive feedback in kind.. I've jist started deleting any positive feedback I left now if they can't be bothered

Figgysmum · 16/01/2024 15:32

They never refunded me. They said I had received the item when I hadn’t. I rang them and they wouldn’t believe me when I said nothing was delivered. I won’t use them again.
